MINUTES OF A NlEETING OF THE PLANNING CWiISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF NOftTH OIMSTED, OHIO HELD AT 8;00 P. M. <br />FEBRUARY 14, 1956 <br />Present were Nlessrs. Votava? ? Lewis., Esgar., Grumneya Hannan. <br />Messrs. Ray Helt, Clarence Oviatt and Les Baker appeared before the Cowlission <br />asking about the possibility of rezoning both sides of Lorain Road in the <br />vicinity of Brookpark Road for business. They presented a petition signed by <br />owners of 2697 feet of frontage on both sides of Lorain Road in this area. <br />No decisions were made concernaLng this possible rezoning. <br />Mr. Howard Thomas of Thomas & Son Florists, 23917 Lorain Road., requested that <br />the depth of strip zoned for retai.l business be increased in depth by 50 f eet <br />on his property to permit building agax°age for camtnercial purposesa Mr. <br />Esgar made a motion that Mre Thoma,s' request be denied., but rec mmerided that <br />he take the matter up with the Zoning Board of Appeals. Dr. Lewis seconded <br />the motion. The motion passed. <br />Mr. J. A. Somerville of 4274 Root Road requested that a lot of about 163 feet <br />in width on the east side of Ca.nterbury Road be diviued into two lots - one <br />81 feet wid.e and the other 82 feet. The sub-division was approveds <br />Mr. Frolo asked t he P1.anning Conmission about developing the Kowalski property <br />fronting on Dover ftoad into a housing developmento He was told the require- <br />ments for land developraent. <br />Dr. Lewis made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hannan, that the Planning Comission <br />recommend to City Countil that they pass an ordinance after public hearing, <br />that the County Auditor be requested to cease recording sub-divided property <br />until it ha.s been approved by the North.Olinsted Planning Commission 'and/ or <br />Citp Council. The motion passed. The Pla,nning Commission gave fixrther consideration to the possible rezoning <br />of both sides of Lorain Road near the Brookpark Road intersection. The matter <br />was tabled uratil tiie next meeting to give Planning Commission members a chance <br />to study the area more thoroughlye The meeting adjourned at 10:25 P.
