? <br /> <br />MINUTES OF MEE`rING <br />PLANNING COMNIISSION OF THE Cl'PY OF NORPH OIMSTEE) <br />MAY 27, 1958 - 8z00 P.M. <br />Present were Mayor Garea.u and Messrso Sipe, Grumney, Barnes argl Oviatt. <br />Mr. Hannan was absent0 <br />The minutes of -the meeting of May 13t;h were read and approved. <br />New Business: Mr. Howard Broadbent9 representing Libby-Lee, Incs9 appeared <br />before the Commission. Mr. Peter Kleis-t o-pms the property between Porter <br />Road and Brookpark. The Building Commissioner, Mr. Gundy, -vrrote a letter <br />to Libby-Lee, Inc, requesting that tr,e 60 ft. frontage on Porter Road be <br />deec3ed to the City of North Olmsted. Mrs Broadbent advised that Libby-Lee <br />tqould c§onat'e a 60 ft. width from Porter Road to Brookpark Road;praviding the <br />City pave the street and assess against Libby-Leee The-j would install the <br />water line. The Pla.nning Commission expressed a desire that l7r. Broadbent <br />present the plat of the existing propex•ty and the dimensions of sameo <br />Mr. William Purper, together with Mr. Ralph Cribbs from U. S. Rubber and <br />Mr. Wayne Gillis - equipmerYt manufacturer, appeared before- the Comm:i.ssion in <br />order to discuss the followz.ng: <br />Mr. George Upp, present oianer of the business property and building on <br />Lorain Road is willing to lease the proper°ty to enable the operation of a <br />wholesale and retail tire business and the electrical tire re treading business, <br />the mercrandising of other incidental products to that business9 this including <br />buying and selling at wholesale and retail of rubber automobile tires, vul.m <br />can3.zing, re-enforcing, rebuilding and repairing automobile tires. <br />Iqr. Purper further explained tha.t although the main purpose of the business is <br />retail sale it would also necessitate a side-line business of wheel alighment, <br />brake servzce and automobile accessories. Apparently, the use of the premises <br />for these purposes woul.d meet the present code requirements. A brochuxe on <br />the retreading process was left with the Planning Commission. <br />A letter tiaas received by the Planning Coi,mission from Carl NS. Kollstedt, <br />Solicitor for the newly formed City of Fairfield,, Ohio in south-eestern Ohioe <br />Tn accordance with NIr. Kollstedt"s request a zoning ord.inance is to be for- <br />uarded to him, together Vrith a letter advising him that the building code may <br />be obtained from the Regional Planning Commission. <br />Old Business: J. M. Field Company Departmerrt Store. Mra Oviatt is to write <br />to tY!e tate in.order to obtain an answer relative to cutting a street from <br />Brookpark Road to Lorain xoad, opposite the entrance to the Shopping Center. <br />Letters are to be forwarded to Mr. Samuel Sonenfield and NIre W. Polatsek <br />advising that the Planning Corimission is in the process of studying the problems <br />discussed and a letter as to their findings -vrill be fon%Tarded as soon as <br />possible. <br />A motion was made by Mrs Ba.rnes that TSr. Wells be instructed by Mr. Gundy to <br />print new City Official blocks to be used on the new zoning mapsa The motion <br />was seconded by Mayor Gareau and passed. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10e30 P.M. <br />P <br />Chair <br />Secretaxy ?< man
