MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING
COMMISSION --•CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
June 28, 1960
Present: Joseph P. Kadylak, Richard Mongello, Thomas Biadas, and Anthony
T. LaPonza,
Absent: Ballard W. Vincent and Thomas J. Doran.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 P. M., by Richard Mongello, Secretary.
The minutes of the meeting of June 14th, 1960 were read and approved.
BURNS ROAD
A small Alex Fodor Subdivision of five (5) lots was submitted to the Planning
Commission for approval. The lots were smaller than the required zoning,
but larger than other lots in the area. It was moved by Mr. Biadas, seconded
by Mr. Mongello, that the subdivision be approvedo "Yeas" Biadas, Mongello,
LaPonza.
LORAIN ROAD REZONING
This matter was referred back to the Planning Commission by Council to
eliminate some of the probl.em areas.
Mrs. Lee VonDuyke, 25459 Lorain Road, requested the entire depth of her
property, an area of twelve (12) acres, be rezoned commercially. Access to
this property would be from Lorain Road, but not from Brookpark Road.
Mr, Mitchell, another property otaner, stated he could sell his property for
$8,000.00 to $10,000.00 if his property were zoned commercially; however,
his pref erence was strictly residential zoning.
The Regional Planning Commission will make a survey and meet with the Planning
Commission at that time.
Mr. Kadylak stated that the job of the Planning Commission is to determine
land use, not to settle arguments, but residents may contact their councilman
relative to such matters. It was moved by Mr. Mongello, seconded by Mr.
LaPonza, to hold the rezoning issue in abeyance until the next meeting.
GREAT iVORTHERN ESTATES SUBDIVISION - (Refer to minutes of June 14th, 1960)
Mr. Shur and Mr. Biskind again presented their proposal for a subdivision
behind Great Northern Shopping Center. Mr. Kadylak recommended some two-
family houses, possibly on the corner lots, be included in this subdivision.
All present concurred with this recommendation. There are still some under-
sized lots remaining in this subdivision. It was moved by Mr. Mongello,
seconded by Mr. Biadas, that the preliminary plan be approved, and copies
of this plan be sent to the School Board, Post Office, and the Plats Committee.
"Yeas" Mongello, Bi.adas, LaPonza. Mro Kadylak refrained from voting on this
motion.
