NIINU7'ES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING COPIMISSION
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED - MARCH 14, 1961
•: - .- - -
The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P,M., by Vice-Chairman, Vincent,
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved,
Present: Ballard W. Vincent, Richard Mongello, Anthony T. LaPonza, Donald
Ford, and Leslie B. Macs,
Absent: Joseph P. Kadylak and Ralph Kelleys
Also present were: Clarence J. Oviatt; City Solicitor; Alex Kanareff, City
Engineer; Ernest J. Gundy, Building Commissioner; and
Henry Caster, Councilman.
PACKER CORPORATION
Mr, Gundy pointed out that no ordinance exists which prohibits the use of this
property for the proposed or present signs. Discussion ensued and it was
sv.ggested that the Packer Corporation post a bond with the city. All members
of the commission unanimously agreed that this should be done.
COLUMBIA ESTATES SUBDIVISION
A proposal was made by Mr. LaPonza that a lot in this subdivision should be
deeded to the city for street purposes even if the adjoining back land can't
be acquired within the two years previously allotted because without this
opening the back land would be land-locked. The commission will present this
idea to Mr. Bennett and Mr. Schneider.
GO-KART TRACK
The use of the proposed property for a go-kart track was rejected by the
Planning Commission due.'to the fact that it is not so zoned, and also because
of the traffic hazards it would cause, the lights, and the noise element.
REZONING - KENNEDY RIDGE ROAD
A motion was made by Mr. Macs, seconded by Mr. LaPonza to reject this subdivision
because the land is not so zoned for a gas station. Mr. Fredericks didn't bring
in the petitions in favor of it, and the builder didn't comply with the restric-
tions of the commission. The commission feels that a gas station would be
detrimental to the rezoning of the land for multiple dwelling. "Yeas" Macs,
Ford, LaPonza, Vineent, - Mongello refrained from voting.
?
It was deeided for each suUdivision coming before the commission the.'person
presenting it would have to give his name, the number of lots, and other,
necessary information to the secretary when the plan was submitted.
