<br />CITY OF i?ORTH OLIvI,STED - JANUARY 22' 1963
<br />The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M.
<br />Pz•esent: Ballard W. Vincent9 Leslie B. Yiacs, Anthony T. LaPonza, Donald T. Ford, Richard
<br />C. Mongello, and Joseph P. Kadylak.
<br />Absent: Thomas Stack.
<br />hlso Present: Alexander Kanareff, City Engineer; Carl Andreano, Assistant City Engineer;
<br />Ex7'est J. Gundy, Building Commissioner; James T. Wilson, Safety Director; and
<br />Henry Caster, klex AZangani and Francis 0'Neill, Councilmen.
<br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with the number of resolu-
<br />tions reflected therein.
<br />JOSEPH BAUER - BIITTERNUT FIEIGHTS SUBDIVISION
<br />Mr. Bauer presented to the commission a plan for a subdivision of 43 sublots off
<br />Butternut Ridge Road. It was moved by Mr. La,Ponza, seconded by Mr. Macs, to put this
<br />proposal into committee for further study. YEAS: LaPonza, I4acs, Vincent, Ford,
<br />Mongello, Kadylak.
<br />A communication was read from Council concerning Ordinance TJo. 62-223, being the C.M.
<br />Bowen parcel, asking for a recommendation from the Commission. It was moved by Mr.
<br />Ford, seconded by Mr. PZacs, to accept this amendMent as recommended by Council and
<br />that a sketch follow the legal description so that the ehange can be made on the zoning
<br />map. YEAS Ford, Ma,cs, LaPonza, Vincent, Mongello, Kadylak.
<br />TREE; LANE SUBDIVISION N0. 2
<br />Improvement plans for Tree Lane Subdivis?on Nos 2 were presented to the Commission for
<br />their, approval. After much discussion it was moved by A7r. Kadylak, seconded by Mr. Il'ia,cs,
<br />to approve these plans contingent on Block A being resolved to the satisfa.ction of the
<br />City and it was left up to the City Engineer to see that it is resolved and then he will
<br />pass it on i;o Council. YEAS: Kadylak, Macs, Vincent, LaPonza, Mongello, Ford.
<br />MR. NUDELMO - IvIATHERSON BUILDING CONIl'ANY
<br />A plan was presented to the Commission by Mr. Nudelman and Dir: Smith for a seven ?tory,
<br />56 suite building apartment development on Lorain and Gessner Roads, requesting rezoning
<br />for this proposed use in regard to the height code of the Cityo The first floor was
<br />proposed to be commercial and there would be seven 1 bedroom suites and forty-nine 2
<br />bedroom suites. Discussion ensued relative to this proposal and it was moved by NIr.
<br />Macs, seconded by Nir. LaPonza, to put this into committee for furtber study. YEAS Ma,cs,
<br />LaPonza, Vincent, Ford, Nlongello, Kadylak. TvLr. Wilson requested that the Commission con-
<br />sult with the Safety Director and the Fiie Chief before taking any action on this or any
<br />other high rise apartrnent situation.

<br />The above named men were advised that their proposal for a subdivision had been turned
<br />down by the Commission because of the private drive situation. The Commission was of
<br />the opinion that it should be a dedicated street for safety factors, service factors,
<br />etc. Discussion ensued with the developers relative to this proposal and recommenda-
<br />:`.: tions were made to them that would be satisfactory to the City.
