These uiinutes are not official until approved at Plaafuling Commission illeeting of April 9, <br />1963. <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIA'L MEETING OP THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED - 14ARCH 30, 1963 <br />The neeting was called to order at 10:00 A.M. <br />Present: Ballard W. Uincent, Leslie B. I4a,cs, Anthony T. LaPonza, Joseph P. Kadylak and <br />Thomas Stack. <br />Absent: Richard 12ongello and Donald Ford. <br />RGEPKA APARTNgNTS <br />This proposed development was again presented to the Commission for consideration with <br />Sublot 16 deleted as a proposed street and shoz-aing an entrailce froin Da,vid Drive. It was <br />moved by Mr. LaPonza, secanded by Mr. Ma,css to reject tris plan because of the private <br />drives, YEAS LaPonza, Macs, Stack, Kadylak, Vincent. They were advised to come back to <br />the Commission with a neiv plan including a 200 foot dedicated street. and i;he balance with <br />private drives iszto thei-r oz•an parking areas. `I'hey were also advised that the Commission <br />was requesting a pla.nting area in the southi,resterly portion of the development. <br />GEORGETOWN EIPARTIYLENTS PROPOSED <br />Mr. English and Mr. Thomson came before the Commission with their proposed development to <br />cover an area of approximately l+ acres. lhis plan showed 200 units in the area with 60 <br />foot dedicated streets, openings at the Tdorth end for possible future development, heavy <br />planting along the ldest side of the development to keep it private and not effect the <br />Canterbury Road residents, It was moved by Mr. Stack, seconded by Mr. Kadylak, to rec- <br />ommend tb Council that this plan be approved as submitted and recommen.ding the rezoning <br />of this land for the proposed use. YLAS Stack, Kadylak, Macs, Vincent, LaPonza. <br />HARRIS <br />Mr. Harris came before the Commission for their recommendation on 'nis p-roposal fo-r re- <br />zoning. It iaas moved by Mr. LaPonza, seconded by Mr. Macs9 to recommend to Council the <br />rezoning of the tip oi back land from resid2ntial to commercial as requested by Mr. <br />Harris. YEAS LaPonza, Macs, Vincent, Stack, Kadylak. <br />PIld OAK APARTMENTS <br />Mr. Glazer was before the Commissioiz to fincl ti-rlia-t their disposition of this proposed <br />development would be. It tras moved by Mr. Kadylak, seconded by I?Lr. Starl?? 4-o reject <br />the proposed apartment development of PIarjak, Inc,, because the Planning Commission <br />agrees that all openings into an apartment should be dedicated streets. Also higher <br />city authority and city ordinances do not permit black topped s.treets, YLAS Kadylak, <br />Stack, LaPonza, Macs, Vincent. <br />GEOPGE BELLAN <br />It was moved by Mr. Macs9 seronded by Mr. LaPonza, after a study of this proposed <br />development to reject it because of the private drives. YEAS Macs, LaPonza, Vincent, <br />Staclc, Iiadylaka <br />It is the wish of the Planning Commission that there be no private drives into apartment <br />developments in North Olmsted for the reasons of health, safety and welfare.
