PvIeetirig of July 13, 1965 <br />-2- <br /> <br />why this rezoning was proposed, 1 <br />Anrs. Joseph 5immons, 29603 Zorain Road, requested a copy of the minutes of the <br />Commission from the meeting at which the recorcunendation was made, <br />Mr. Carl Kelsik 29510 Lorain Road, also voiced his opposition to this proposed rezoning. <br />The minutes of ?he meeting of A.prii 20 19b5, were then read by Nr. IJiusial for the <br />benefit of the residents present. <br />Mr. Joe Regnatz, 31084 Lora.in Road, also voiced his oppositioh to the zoning change. <br />1v1r. Joseph Simmons, 29603 Lorain Road, stated that he ha.d contacted residents on Lorain <br />Road and that everyone he contacted was against this zoning change. <br />Mr. Gates, a resident of Lorain Road, also stated his opposition to the zoning change. <br />Mr. Spalding pointed out that this brought about partly by the Jaycee survey of <br />approximately 2 years ago. <br />TAr. Shade, 29587 Lorain R.oad, also stated t'hat he would be opposing this zoning change <br />if it should come about, <br />Nrs..Agnes Deemer, 3007 Zorain Road stated that if this wa.s rezoned to residential that <br />she would sell her property to colo-red. <br />Mrs. Simmons a.gain stated that she would be opposed to this as it would be stopping <br />progress. <br />Nr. Gates stated that prope rties along Lorain Road were sold with the understanding that <br />this was zoned retail and to change this would bring many lawsuits. <br />Mr. Scanlon requested the Commission to reconsider the proposal of taking a survey of the <br />people in this area taking into consideration the number of people who were present <br />at the meeting opposing this proposed rezoning. <br />Mr. Mangani reported to the Commission that in regard to the 701 Grant Council had <br />suggested Ca.rroll V. Hill and Associates and Regional Planning for this project and this <br />was now in the Mayor's hands and they could not get the grant until October. <br />Iuir, Es:;ar and Nr. Spalding were named a committee to study the zoning ordinance as <br />to frontages on lots. <br />Nlr. 112usial and N1r. Fa.bek were named a committee to take the survey of the Lorain Road, <br />residents in regard to rezoning. <br />It was moved by Mr. Spalding 9 seconded by Pv1r. Nusial, to hear from Council what their <br />opinion is on the proposed Lorain Road rezoning. Nrra Man.gani stated that a telephone <br />survey would be suf'ficient for this purpose. <br />Discussion ensued relative to the zoning ordinance as to frontage. <br />bIr. Ford then thanked the residents of the Lorain Road area present for presenting their <br />vievapoints at this meeting. <br />It ivas moved by Mr. Laronza, seconded by Mr. Fabek, to adjourn the meeting.
