Gund.y, Building Corimissioner <br />Minutes oi t.he September 7, 1966, meeting approved as receivedo <br />le Appellant; Peter D. Kleist, West 232nd Sto Bvild:ing Inc., W. 232 and <br />Lorair_ ??da, North 0lmsted?. <br />Request for variance (1133.13) to construct an adcL.tion on the <br />Buckeye Restaurant. Request is in violation of 11;4,X2 of the <br />7onin.g Ordinance which s tates in retai.l business district hzild- <br />ing setback shall be at 1eqst 501 from street lsne; Section <br />1231m02 B. which states a nonconlCorming building shall not be <br />altered, added to or enlarged unless the additions and original <br />building are made to conform to the yard., coverage and height <br />regulations of the district in which it is located. <br />This is a continuation of hearang held September 7. 1966. <br />Mro Robert E. Casper9 attorney for the appellant., appeared and requested a <br />further continuance of ths appeal f'or variance, until a determination is made <br />by City Council on Zegislation be:E'ore the City Gouncil regarding the Code. <br />3•1rw Nelson moved to grant a continuance until such a time as Council acts on <br />proposed legislation. Waterloo Rdo9 Akron, Ohio <br />Request for variance to erect a pole sign for Great Northern <br />Ford, 26890 Lorain Ftd., North Olmsted, which exceeds maxi.mum <br />height and maximur,i footage allowed by Code,, Request is in <br />violation oi #M2-33, Section 1225.020 <br />Mr. Norman Kyman9 president of Great Vorthern Ford' was present; also, Mr. <br />Harold howland o.f El]_et Neon Sign Co,, They explained that Ford Motor Company, <br />arter makang an extensive research, are beginning a national dealership iden-ti- <br />fication program rea,uiring a].1 new signs. Their plan inlrol.ves installing id.enti- <br />ca3 signs in a1T dealersh.ips and removal of" all existing signs.. <br />They are requesting two pole signs, one measuri.ng 2.3 1x7A on a 35 ' pole, the <br />second, 13'lx 517, height, includ.ing poley, 221. First sign to be an ident <br />sign, the second a used car sign. <br />Mr. R.owland explained it wouki not be advisable to rnount both signs on one <br />pole because theJ w ere for two entirely separate businesses, A1so, the way <br />the signs are manuFactured, it would be impossible to combine two signs on <br />one pole.
