Edwe.rd Brewer, Richard Nelson, Kurt Richards, Also presento Mr. Ransbury, Assistant to Acting City Engineers J. Bruce Kitchen, T ai.; Directar; NIr. Gundy, Building Coirunissianer, II. Reading and. Correction of Minutes Mr, Leona.rd stated that in the minutes of 4/27/71 undex Old Business, his motion should read "improvernents in the city recreation areas". Mro B,yers mentioned that in the same section, the acreage should read 4.6 acresm The minutes were unanimoUSly aprroved as revised. III. Building Departinent Rec±uests (a) Proposed. Temporary Sign Oriiinance - Mro Gundy presented the proposed ordina.nce and in the discussion that followecl nuestions were raised such as what are temporary signs and how can a temporary sign ordi- nance be enforced. Mr. Leonard moved that the Planning Commission recommend that no temparary sign ordinance be consid.ered. The motion d.ied for lack of a second. It was the general opinion of the comm.ission members that representatives of the citizens group that nxoposed the ordinance shoulcl be invited to the next meeting to present their nrronosal. (b) Great D?orthez•n Stores - a furniture store. A'Ir. Gundy nresented plans and stated that the -narking spaces exceed.the renuire?nents by four spaces and that othe-r reo-uirements have been met. After study and discussion by the cor.imission, P?Tra Leonard moved and Mr. IIyers seconded a. motion to a?rove the proposal. The motion was unanimously passed. IV. Old Business (a) Hen Roc Rezoning Rea,uest - The layout had been redesigned to provide an east to west d.riveway terninating at the uni.;nproved land to the east. However, objections were raised to garages which were adjacent to the driveway in several nlaces. A traffic hazard would exist wi'th cars backing from the gara.ees. There was also an. objection to the complete closing of T,Testview Drive. Also, garages were too close to the pronert7T line on the ea.sterly nroperty line. It was moved by Mr. Leonard, seconded by Mr. Da.vis,and unanimously a.nproved to return the proposal to a committe-of-the-whale for furthur study, U. New Developments and Subdivisions (a) McFntse Subdivision - a proposal to subdivide a trirngular shaped parcel of la.nd among eight adjacent property owners on Cottonwood Trail. A motion by Mr. Davis to approve the subdivision was seconded by Mr. Leonard and unanimously gassed.
