<br />CITX OF DTORTH OLMSiED, OHIO <br />PLANNING COi•4MISSIODI <br />1lay 11, 1971 <br />I a Roll Cal7. <br />The meetzng was called to order at 8s06 P.M. by Chairman Dona].d Ledvina. <br />Those prpsent were Mssrs, Ledvina9 James Davis, James Leonard and Edi-rard <br />Byerso AYssent: J. Edwe.rd Brewer, Richard Nelson, Kurt Richards, Also <br />presento Mr. Ransbury, Assistant to Acting City Engineers J. Bruce <br />Kitchen, T ai.; Directar; NIr. Gundy, Building Coirunissianer, <br />II. Reading and. Correction of Minutes <br />Mr, Leona.rd stated that in the minutes of 4/27/71 undex Old Business, his <br />motion should read "improvernents in the city recreation areas". Mro B,yers <br />mentioned that in the same section, the acreage should read 4.6 acresm <br />The minutes were unanimoUSly aprroved as revised. <br />III. Building Departinent Rec±uests <br />(a) Proposed. Temporary Sign Oriiinance - Mro Gundy presented the proposed <br />ordina.nce and in the discussion that followecl nuestions were raised <br />such as what are temporary signs and how can a temporary sign ordi- <br />nance be enforced. Mr. Leonard moved that the Planning Commission <br />recommend that no temparary sign ordinance be consid.ered. The motion <br />d.ied for lack of a second. It was the general opinion of the <br />comm.ission members that representatives of the citizens group that <br />nxoposed the ordinance shoulcl be invited to the next meeting to <br />present their nrronosal. <br />(b) Great D?orthez•n Stores - a furniture store. A'Ir. Gundy nresented plans <br />and stated that the -narking spaces exceed.the renuire?nents by four <br />spaces and that othe-r reo-uirements have been met. After study and <br />discussion by the cor.imission, P?Tra Leonard moved and Mr. IIyers seconded <br />a. motion to a?rove the proposal. The motion was unanimously passed. <br />IV. Old Business <br />(a) Hen Roc Rezoning Rea,uest - The layout had been redesigned to provide <br />an east to west d.riveway terninating at the uni.;nproved land to the <br />east. However, objections were raised to garages which were adjacent <br />to the driveway in several nlaces. A traffic hazard would exist wi'th <br />cars backing from the gara.ees. There was also an. objection to the <br />complete closing of T,Testview Drive. Also, garages were too close to <br />the pronert7T line on the ea.sterly nroperty line. It was moved by Mr. <br />Leonard, seconded by Mr. Da.vis,and unanimously a.nproved to return the <br />proposal to a committe-of-the-whale for furthur study, <br />U. New Developments and Subdivisions <br />(a) McFntse Subdivision - a proposal to subdivide a trirngular shaped <br />parcel of la.nd among eight adjacent property owners on Cottonwood <br />Trail. A motion by Mr. Davis to approve the subdivision was seconded <br />by Mr. Leonard and unanimously gassed.
