CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />REPORT FOR 1971 <br />1971 saw the continued involvement of the Planning Commission in its various <br />areas of responsibility concerning the harmonious development of all lands <br />within the City. The Commission spent considerable time in the area of reviewing plans for <br />off-street parking and loading facilities. This area of responsibil.ity had <br />been given to the Commission during the prior year in an effort to upgrade <br />this important area of community development. <br />Seven rezoning matters were reviewed and acted upon during 1971 in addition <br />to the handling of sixteen (16) small subdivisions of property site,s. <br />The review of one particular major subdivision for.cluster residential <br />housing resulted in the approval of the preliminary plans for this development. <br />The Commission also reviewed and acted upon many other matters including <br />the acquisition of the Sealtest Property for use by the City Safety Depart- <br />ments, the acquisition of land for a possible hospital site, and the use of <br />land for a City Service Garage. <br />The Commission moved unanimously at their last meeting for 1971 that it - <br />would mutually cooperate with both the Citizens Advisory Committee on Land <br />Use and City Council in an effort for better planning for the City. <br />Respectfully submitted, . <br />Donald G.
