Planning Commissi.on ?-2L-?7-3 <br />(c) Great Northern Towers <br />- 2 - <br />There must be clarification of position of buildings in <br />relationship to heighto Mr. Shur was present and showed <br />planso Existing Victoria Plaza is 19 stories, two X <br />shaped 10 story building for elderly, and I, shaped build- <br />ing to the east 20 stories. The last building is to be <br />built later, after enclosed mall is built, and to be very <br />expensiveo Plan should be reTriewed by Housing subcommit- <br />tee. Feelings of elderly citizens should be ccnsidered. <br />Mr. Richards is chairman of subcommittee and set committee <br />meeting for May 114, and public hearing was set for May 22. <br />Elderly buildings cannot be converted to condominimums4 Mr. <br />Brewer questioned extra 5 acres from Victcria Plaza. Mr. <br />Shur said they were zoned for mixed use. There is plot <br />plan for 10 acres. Changes must come in front of Planning <br />Commission and Council. <br />(d) Sandy Ridge Subdivision #10. <br />Mr. ilIcDermatt presented fina], plans ix7hich meet specifica- <br />tions and are in conformance. Plans include road from <br />Porter to Dover. There are 96 lots in subdivision. Mr. <br />Breier moved for approval, Mr. Richards seconded. Dur- <br />ing discussion it was mentioned there is 20 ft. driveway <br />access to recreation area to north which will be deeded <br />to city. All present voted in favor of the motion. <br />(e ) Retail Center at Park iZid7e and I,orain. <br />Mr, B. Schwarzer presented new plan ztiith additional di- <br />mension and one parking space less. There is parking <br />for 55 cars and 9,163 square feet of building. Planting <br />strip has been added and fencing screening is to be <br />placed adjacent to next door swimming pool. Description <br />of building and cccupants was given. Neighbors present, <br />Mr. George Zubelak9 President of PGrk Rid7e Association <br />and representing 300 families, Mary Ann Napik, 5985 Park <br />Ridge, Pete Selanik, 28732 Lynhaven and Robert Shamus, <br />28586 Lynhaven voiced objections to proposed p1an. Ex- <br />eess traffic, use of islands (cianed by city but maintain- <br />ed by residents) safety of children and space for trucks <br />backing and turning taere main objections. Mr. Davis ask- <br />ed for suggestions for use of the propert.y. Professional <br />building or affice use is recommended b.y Regional Planning. <br />14r. Davis questioned direction of drainage d.itch behind <br />Lynhaven on ;hamus property, Mr. NcDermott said this <br />should be studied. Mr. Tubbs moved to place in committee <br />pend.ing engineering study. Nlr. Byers seconded the motion. <br />A traffic survey is also needed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />-? Mrs. Lois DeBrodt of Stoneybrook Drive praised conduct of <br />the meeting.
