Planning Commission 7-24-73 - 2 - inspected and are o.k. More retention is needed. There is ? no quarrel with improvement p1an. Mr. Richards moved im- provements be approved taking exception to street layout as confirmed in Planning Commission action of January 23, 1973• Mr. Brewer seconded and motion passed. At this time J. Corrigan from the audience mentioned sani- tary and storm sewers as being o.k. and asked if this is drainage only for this development. Mr. McDermott replied sanitary and storm sewers are adequate in themselves and will not overload any existing development. VI. Communications (a)Letter from Clerk of Council wi-th attached copy of Ord. 73-81 and specifying date of Public Hearing for same. Mr. Brewer moved to approve rezoning action as outlined in Ord. 73-81. N1r. Richards seconded and motion passed. (b)Petition was presented to City Council, covered by letter from Councilman John West and forwarded to Planning Commis- sion regarding Kuhlman Oldsmobile and signed b,y residents of Porter Road area. Petition requires buffer type screen- ing in addition to chain link fence. Neighbors are concern- ed that body shop will be right next to them. Retention basin was also matter of concern to the many residents pre- sent at the meeting. The Engineering Department has checked ? retention basin and it is set below grade. Mr. PIcDermott will review plans of location of retention basin. Mr, David Hoelter, b985 Porter Rd. 734-3787 is especially concerned. The original question was buffer zone. Mr. Richards moved Planning Commission go on record in favor of Mr. West's recommendation and suggest Kuhlman Oldsmobile be approached by Mr. West to arrange for shrubbery planting to screen chain link fence from Porter Rd. properties. Mr. Brewer seconded motion. Under discussion it was indicated neigh-- bors are willing to have their properties used for plantings and they will maintain same. lIOtion passed. ?#r. Gundy will check on retention basin location and structure. A new resi- dent, B. Nagy, ?955 Porter Rd. inquired about ponding of water on his property. The engineering Dept. will do field check. VII. Committee Reports - There were no committee reports. VIII. New Businsss - The next regular meeting of Planning Commission will be September 11, 1973. IX.
