<br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 12, 2012 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowski <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, David Neville, Albert Richner, Tom Dubowski, Jim Morse, Dale <br />Thomas, Julie Nader <br />Absent: Don Rerlco, Maryellen Davis <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND API'ROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Thomas moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the October 22, 2012 minutes <br />as written which passed 5-0. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />Ms. Wenger would lilce the commissions subcommittees to schedule their meetings prior to or <br />directly after their monthly meetings. She reviewed tl-ie commission's reports and goals for the <br />prior year. A brief discussion regarding speaker series ensued as to whether or not the <br />commission met their goals and possible ways to set obtainable goals each year. Mr. Thomas <br />suggested the commission look into touring the Parker Farm during the spring of 2013. The <br />coinmission may want to keep an eye on the Parker Farm as a potential property to plaque. Mr. <br />Schumann questioned if having a spealcer series each year was a requirement for maintaining <br />their CLG certification and Ms. Wenger assured the commission it wasn't. Mr. Morse said there <br />is a Cleveland Chapter for Air Races which is specific to the 1920's and 1930's period. He <br />could set up a presentation for the corrunission as part of the spealcer series. A brief discussion <br />ensued regarding Mr. Doolittle and his ties to aviation in the area and Mr. Crab's who has the <br />only active helipad in North Olmsted. <br />Mr. Morse suggested the city web site provide links on the Landmarlcs page for programs <br />available locally and through the state and federal branches to assist historic homeowners. Ms. <br />Wenger suggested a committee be set to review and make suggestion on possible improvements <br />to the cities Landmarlcs page. She will start drafting the 2012 report and asked corrunissioners <br />for impute on possible goals and deadlines. <br />ADJOURNIVIENT <br />With no further business, Mr. Rerlco's and Ms. Davis absence was excused and meeting <br />adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
