CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSIOllT CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 7, 2012 ROLL CALL Mr. Yustick called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. at the North Olmsted Branch Library. Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, Barbara Schirhart, David Wahl, Nasreen Starner Absent: Barbara Brown, Miguel Cora REVIEW AND CORIZECTION OF MINUTES Ms. Starner moved, seconded by 1VIs. Martindale, to approve the meeting minutes of August 1, 2012, which passed 4-0. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to approve the format of the holiday lights flyer, which passed 4-0. Commissioners discussed going to the sites to view the lights in lieu of judging photos submitted. Mr. Yustick suggested wording be add to the 2013 flyer for photos to be taken at dusk to ensure picture quality is worthy of the display. Ms. Starner felt there would be more applications if photos were not required. The demands of the season and entry deadlines don't provide ample time for submitting photos. Commissioners will visit the sites to be judged in lieu of picking winners from photos. Commissioners agreed to move the December 5?' meeting to Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Commissioners requested the clerk invite the Mayor to award the winners their ornaments, perhaps at a Council meeting. Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Ms. Starner, to move the December CAC uYeeting date to December 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm, whieh passed 5-0. COMMITTEE REPORTS Dover Plavers Ms. Martindale reviewed the Hansel & Gretel play and said the children interacted with the actors which was a big hit. Miscellaneous Mr. Yustick reviewed his attendance at the North Olmsted Garden Club. Ms. Schirhart said North Olmsted High School Students displayed their art work at the Taste of Excellence event. She spoke to Ms. Riley in the arts department about displaying the students'
