CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 4, 2012 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Yustick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Branch Library. <br />Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, Barbara Brown, Nasreen Starner <br />Absent: Miguel Cora, Barbara Schirhart, David Wahl <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Starner moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to approve the meeting minutes of March <br />7, 2012, which passed 4-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />North Olmsted City Hall Art Gallery <br />An application was received from Brian Goodwin who creates kaleidoscope style art. <br />Commissioners approved the display for October through December 2012. Mr. Yustick said the <br />entire year is now boolced. Commissioners discussed limiting artists to North Olmsted resi.dents; <br />however they felt that not restricting it would draw in more artists. The commission would lilce <br />to work on publicizing the art gallery and those displaying their work. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Dover Players <br />Ms. Martindale said the Untold Case Files of Sherlock Holms was going well. The audience will <br />be the jury in the play so it will be interactive and fun for all. <br />Olmsted Festival of the Arts <br />Mr. Yustick said applications were being sent out by the end of the week and a committee would <br />be the judges for all festival applications. Ms. Brown aslced if artists were allowed to show and <br />sell art which has been displayed in previous years, and Mr. Yustick said yes. Mr. Yustick said <br />he would like a flyer created advertising the festival and then passed out to local camera shops, <br />arts and craft stores and other local businesses willing to display the flyer. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />With no further business, Barbara Schirhart and David Wahl absences were excused and the <br />meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m. <br />: l ---- - <br />??-?-- <br />1 Yustick, Chair onna Rote, Clerk of Commissions <br />Approved: ?
