CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINU'I'ES OF FEBRUARY 1, 2012 <br />I20LL CALL <br />Chairman Yustick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Library. <br />Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, Barbara Schirhart <br />Absent: Miguel Cora, Barbara Brown, Nasreen Starner <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Martindale moved, seconded by Ms. Schirhart, to approve the meeting minutes of <br />December 13, 2011, which passed 4-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />• Holiday Lighting Contest review <br />Members commended Ms. Starner on an excellent job handling the Holiday Light Contest. <br />There were 39 entries and the chosen sites were photographed and displayed on the local cable <br />channel and city website. Ms. Schirhart said there should be a formal presentation for the <br />winners perhaps at a council meeting. Mr. Wahl suggested the 2011 winners be invited to lciclc <br />off the 2012 contest at a council ineeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />• North Olmsted City Hall Art Gallery <br />Members briefly discussed Ragan Kelly and Eric Kelly's art work being displayed together or <br />independently. It was decided to invite Ragan and Eric to display their works together. Ragan <br />and Eric will be contacted and advised of their display date. <br />Mr. Yustick moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale to approve Ragan & Eric Kelly's Art <br />Gallery applications which passed 4-0. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />• Dover Players <br />Ms. Martindale said Dover Players had a good year with increased attendance. The first play of <br />2012 will be scheduled to perform in April. Casting and practices have begun and will continue <br />until the play opens. She briefly discussed her meeting with Safety/Service Director Thomas <br />regarding the use of materials within Old Town Hall which must comply with fire codes and <br />anything constructed or electrical being inspected for code compliance.
