- _- ' Ms. Wenger said concerns were arising of the maintenance of Old Town Hall which is both a city landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places. She and the service foreman walked the building and around the site and noted issues such as cracks in the chimney, bricks coming out of the ramp, and interior issues likely caused by water. She would like the Commission's support to have a detailed assessment of the building conducted which would result in a capital plan for the preservation of the structure. She will be looking for someone who is an expert in historic preservation, architecture, building systems and accessibility to detail a plan outlining short, medium and long term improvements which are needed so a proper budget can be set. She also thinks there is a possibility to better utilize the building for community events, meetings and other city purposes. She will research to see if grant funds might be available for this effort. All commissioners said they would support efforts to develop a capital improvement plan. Mr. Morse said the commission did a local landmark for the Seltzer house however there was no Ohio Historical Inventory form recorded. He said he would like to work with the city to gather the information required to have the home included. Mr. Schumann said the historical marker in front of Fire Station #2 was broken. Ms. Wenger said she has provided the service department contacts to receive quotes so they can fix and/or replace the historical sign. Mr. Schumann said the commission previously discussed creating a sandstone foundation around the historical marker, perhaps once it is fixed they can look into installing the sandstones to protect the marker post.
