ti <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />Annual Report 2014 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The mission of the Landmarks Commission is to protect, preserve and perpetuate the structures <br />and districts which reflect the City's heritage. The Commission encourages education and <br />creates an environment that promotes the community's historic sites, events and citizens in <br />order to foster civic pride. <br />The members of the 2014 City of North Olmsted Landmarks Commission are: <br />David Neville, Chair Paul Schumann Thomas Dubowski <br />Jim Morse, Vice Chair ponald Rerko James Dubelko <br />Duane H. Limpert Gretchen Schuler Dale Thomas <br />CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />The Landmarks Commission has the responsibility of reviewing proposals for demolition, <br />construction or alteration of any landmark or property within a landmarks district. The <br />Landmarks Commission holds public hearings and issues certificates of appropriateness for <br />proposals which meet the criteria for acceptable work. For guidance, the Commission looks to <br />the Secretary of the Interior's standards for rehabilitation. There were seven Certificates of <br />Appropriateness and three minor changes granted in 2014. <br />Certificates of Appropriateness approved: <br />• 26706 Butternut Ridge Rd: build a free standing workshop. <br />• 27537 Butternut Ridge Rd: resize rear kitchen window to match original windows <br />• 26747 Butternut Ridge Road: install new concrete driveway and sidewalks <br />• 25991 Butternut Ridge Road: garage door, roof, and exterior color trim changes <br />• 25747 Butternut Ridge Road: restore wood siding on north and east elevation & install vinyl <br />siding on the south and west elevation of the home. <br />• 26730 Butternut Ridge Road: replace and increase size of front porch <br />• 27191 Butternut Ridge Road: demolish existing home and restore site with green space <br />Minor Changes approved: <br />• 5050 Porter Road: replacing front porch and steps <br />• 26872 Butternut Road: replace existing patio <br />0 26944 Butternut Road: replace driveway and front apron
