Bicentennial Musical
Jeff said that after two weekends, about 300 people have seen Township 6-Range 15, the
Bicentennial musical, and it has been well received. One weekend remains. He encouraged
Commission members to make reservations to ensure a ticket.
NEW BUSINESS
Planning for 2016
Kim will provide members the meeting calendar for 2016. All meetings are the third Wednesday
of the month, but in Maxch, when the meeting date will be moved to March 30"' to accommodate
a City Council meeting on the normal Commission night and to fall in line with the Mayor's Art
Show on that date.
The group discussed events for 2016. Arts Commission will continue to organize the Mayor's
Art Show, Suinmer in the City, and North Olmsted Noel. Commissioners also were interested in
holding another farm market and food show event in late February, the cabin has already been
reserved for Sunday, February 281h. Planning for this event would have to start in December.
Kim will start coordinating via email after North Olmsted Noel. In lieu of a stand-alone bike
event, the group had discussed the idea of a bike decorating station and bike parade in
conjunction with another city event, perhaps Memorial Day parade. Annie said she would talk to
the VFW to see if the addition of decorated bikes would be a positive addition or would detract
from the tone of the event.
Kim also reported that the city would be organizing another fireworks event for July 3`d. The
hope is that city staff will do most of the organizing and the Arts Commission can program
certain parts of the event most directly related to its mission.
Other events may be organized again at less frequency. Another arts showcase event is a
possibility in another year. Another history tour may be organized in another five years. New
ideas may also come about.
Kim told members to save the date for Monday, January 25t". There will be a volunteer
recognition event at Springvale that evening.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
?Eill arake Ki berly Wcngcr
Chair Director of Planning & Development
Approved:
