PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MINiJTES OF JANUARY 13, 2016 ROLL CALL Vice Chairman Nader called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Julie Nader, Paul Schumann, Thomas Patton, David Anderson, Don Rerko Absent: Greg Malone Staff: Planning & Development Director Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, City Engineer Pietro DiFranco, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo COMIVIISSION ORGANIZATION Ms. Wenger announced the resignation of Mr. Bohlmann from the Commission. Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to appoint Mr.1Vlalone chair for 2016 which passed 5-0. Mr. Rerko moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to appoint Ms. Nader vice chair for 2016 which passed 4-0, Ms. Nader abstained. Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to appoint Mr. Schumann to the Landmarlcs Commission, which passed 4-0, Mr. Schumann abstained. Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to appoint Mr. Malone to Housing Council, which passed 5-0. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to approve the Planning & Design Commission minutes of December 9, 2015, motion passed 5-0. NEW BUSINESS 15-4683 Dollar General; PP# 237-09-005 Representative: Jeff Paulson, Hurley & Stuart Ms. Wenger said the proposal consists of a new commercial building and site improvements on currently vacant land. At the December 9, 2015 meeting, the Planning and Design Commission requested amendments to the site plan, landscape plan, design plan and building elevations. The applicant made many modifications to accommodate these requests. The proposed building is constructed mainly of masonry. Two colors of natural brick will be used instead of the originally proposed painted brick. Ornamental landscaping is proposed along the front parking row as well as the beds adjacent to the building.
