The consultant had asked the group to better define the areas and uses involved in the
town center. Discussion occurred about civic uses versus mixed use in the triangle bordered by
Lorain, Porter and Butternut Ridge Roads. The general feeling was that civic use was more
appropriate than commercial, residential or office uses. One of the areas of opportunity for mixed
use would be the Brookpark Road extension corridor. Intersections of Lorain/Dover and
Lorain/Porter/Butternut could be considered for streetscape enhancements. Townhouse style
residential development could improve the Dover Center corridor from Lorain leading to the new
HS-MS campus. Mr. Rerko provided names of local developers that may be interested in projects
in North Olmsted and described how a public-private partnership could be used for various
projects. For the following meeting, the group should review existing and possible uses in the
locations discussed. Ms. Wenger will provide some base mapping for note takirig.
ADJOURNMENT
With no ftuther business the meeting adjourned at 9:15 pm.
ie Nader, Vice Chair
i Z77 Il0
Appr ved
57
?
Nicole Rambo, Administrative Assistant
