she might be able to use her neighbor's property to maintain her fence. Discussion about lot <br />sizes, the property is not close to the next size that would allow a bigger shed. Mr. Papotto stated <br />that the size of the shed was too large in relation to other neighbors' sheds, Ms. Sabo and Mr. <br />Allain agreed. Ms. Sabo did not think 2 feet was enough space and Mr. Allain added that it <br />would be difficult for emergency responders to access if needed. <br />Mr. Papotto moved, seconded by Mr. Allain, to grant the following variances for a shed for <br />16-5631; Sara Franklin; 28643 Spruce Drive: <br />1. A 72 sq. ft. variance for area of an accessory building; code permits 120 sq. ft., <br />applicant shows 192 sq. ft., Section 1135.02(d)(1). <br />2. A 4-1/2 in. variance for the accessory building maximum height; code permits 9 ft., <br />applicant shows 9 ft. 4-1/2 in., Section 1135.02(d)(1). <br />3. A 3 ft. variance for rear setback; code requires 5 ft., applicant shows 2 ft., Section <br />1135.02(d)(5). <br />Motion denied 0-5. <br />COMMERCIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />15-4501; Savers; 26350 Brooknark Road <br />Representative: Joel Frezel, Savers <br />Proposal consists of signage. Zoning is General Retail Business. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 39 square foot variance for total wall signage per building unit (Savers). Code permits 174 <br />square feet, applicant shows 213 square feet, section 1163.25(c). <br />2. A variance for 1 additional wall sign (Savers D). Code permits 1 sign per building unit, <br />applicant shows 2 wall signs, section 1163.28(a). <br />Mr. Aspery said the applicant is requesting sign variances for the proposed Savers at the former <br />Remington College building. Following the recent Planning & Design Commission meeting, the <br />applicant amended their variance requests. The total of all building signage for Savers (wall plus <br />canopy) exceeds code by 39 square feet, as opposed to the previous amount of 94 square feet. <br />Code permits 174 square feet, applicant currently shows 213 square feet. The applicant shows <br />one more wall sign than is allowed by code for Savers. The revised logo sign on the east <br />elevation has been reduced to meet code requirements. Mr. Frezel stated that the total signage <br />square footage has decreased greatly. The second sign is needed for Brookpark Road to increase <br />visibility. Mr. Raig stated that the tenant space would comply with code (65 square feet) and <br />would be separate from Savers signage. Ms. Meredith believed the variances were minimal. <br />Ms. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Allain, to grant the following variances for signage <br />for 15-4501; Savers; 26350 Brookpark Road: <br />1. A 39 square foot variance for total wall signage per building unit (Savers). Code <br />permits 174 square feet, applicant shows 213 square feet, section 1163.25(c). <br />2. A variance for 1 additional wall sign (Savers D). Code permits 1 sign per building unit, <br />applicant shows 2 wall signs, section 1163.28(a). <br />Motion passed 5-0.
