? -,
Celebrate North Olmsted website regarding North Olmsted history. Mr. Schumann reviewed the
architecture handouts about common home styles built in North Olmsted prior to 1916. He
suggested that the commissioners look for tells to help determine the age of the home: swayback
roof lines, quarried sandstone foundation stones, eonduit block foundation and concrete cast to
look like sandstone. He warned that a lot of houses will have an "eclectic" style which could
make it difficult to determine the age of the home. Mr. Dubelko reviewed the research method he
uses to find information including resources such as the County Auditor and Recorder websites,
Cleveland Library Digital Map Collection and the County Tax Records on the year homes were
built and about the owners. Commissioners will get IDs from the Human Resources to carry
while doing their research.
Thompson House
Mr. Neville said the Thompson House was moved before April lst, the School Board's deadline
for moving the house. He mentioned the great amount of help and support from Jack Boss and
the other volunteers who helped ensure success of the move. The roof of the second story will be
installed this week. Some artifacts were found when the house was moved. A silver spoon with
the date 1831 was also found.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:54 p.m.
David Neville, hair Nicole Rambo, Administrative Assistant
Date: /, 1-1-3 /,/(,-
