llam-12pm: Stephanie and Janelle
12-lpm: Stephanie, Janelle and James (tear-down)
It was agreed by all that the flower craft from the July 15t' Westside Flea will work as the craft
for the Frostville table, as there are plenty of supplies left. James will bring the craft supplies,
tent, sign, and as many rack cards as he can find; many of them have already been given away or
distributed across the city. Lauren confirmed that she will create a rack card for August events so
that they can be printed quickly and distributed over the next several weeks.
2017 Work Plan Discussimn
Summer in the City - Sunday, August 20
Laura and James confirmed that Kristine Jackson, a longtime performer around the Cleveland
music scene, is scheduled for the August concert. She will be bringing her full band and
performing her blues-influenced songs. Laura recommended that James look for smaller food
trucks to accommodate a smaller crowd than what many trucks are accustomed to. James will
reach out to these trucks.
Yoga in the Park - Saturday, August 5
Leah and Jackie led the discussion about continuing the event series into September. It was
agreed that the next event will be held on Saturday, September 2nd. Leah will contact Jill and
Kelly from Circle of Life to confirm this date. Jackie clarified that while the Cabin may not be
available as a rain venue, the Senior Center Activity Room will be available.
"Be Our Guest": An Afternoon of Tea and Trumpets - Sunday, September 10
Stephanie confirmed that the event is still going ahead as planned, with the NOCS Education
Foundation doing the coordinating. The Arts Commission may provide valuable assistance in
promotion and day-of support. Any Commission financial contributions will be finalized before
August's meeting and reported out.
North Olmsted Noel - Sunday, December 3
James confirmed that the reindeer is booked for $875.00, the same amount as last year. He has
requested that Jungle Island Zoo bring reindeer with antlers, but there is no guarantee. Annie
confirmed that she will reach out to last year's Santa. It was agreed by all that the light
installation will not be renewed and that the carolers will not be invited back. In lieu of these
carolers, Leah confirmed that she will reach out her Pine School contact and gauge their interest
in performing at the event.
Additional ideas for 2017 event improvements included: community organization-sponsored
trees, gingerbread houses, exterior lighting displays, ice sculptures and illuminated pole banners.
It was agreed by all that regardless of what idea is ultimately implemented at this year's event,
community engagement should be a primary focus.
City Hall Art Gallerv
Leah moved to approve Mike Rozack's gallery application for display from September lst through
October 31St, seconded by Jackie. Motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
With,po further bu?iqess, the meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
Lauren Suter, Chair James Aspery, Planner
Approved: ? 16 . ? -7
