a:-'_ a <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 20, 2018 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />T'he meeting was called to order at 630 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Chavez Anderson, Lauren Suter, Janelle Zauner, Annie Kilbarie, Wilma <br />Kepperley <br />Absent: Leah Rogalski Davis, Laura Simna, Jenny Taylor Sta,ff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Wilma moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of May 16, 2018, seconded by Janelle, <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Yoga in the Park I June 2 <br />Jackie stated that 91 people attended the event and that Circle of Life was able to use the corded <br />microphone with no issue. James confirmed that Jill and Kelly will be looking into purchasing a <br />wireless mic system for use at future events. Lauren asked about splitting up the groups into two <br />classes as the size continues to grows, but it was agreed to keep running the event as it is <br />currently organized. The next event is scheduled for July 7t'. <br />Bike Path Beautification <br />Jackie and James shared that the event had a turnout of approximately 18 people who split up into <br />trash and painting teams along the trail. James presented Leah's thoughts on adding more arts and <br />culture into future beautification events. Annie suggested that the Service Department mobilize <br />their summer employees to do one large cleanup of debris and branches from the path. Wilma <br />suggested that a public awareness campaign be created to encourage people not to litter or <br />otherwise clutter the path. Jackie and Lauren confirmed their intent to have the Commission focus <br />on the arts side of future cleanups while partnering with community groups to add a service <br />component to the event. <br />ONGOING BUSINESS <br />Summer Music Event I July 28 <br />Jackie shared that she and James will be submitting the liquor permit in the coming weeks. James <br />confirmed that the food trucks will be Sauced Pizza Truck, Wok N Roll, River pog Cafe and <br />Smooth Rider Smoothie and the bands will be Lowly, the Tree Ghost, Meg and the Magnetosphere, <br />Michael McFarland and Jerry Popiel. James confirmed that a large ground sign will be <br />installed along Lorain Rd and a vinyl banner will be installed on the Gazebo. It was agreed by <br />all that 2 auxiliary police members will serve from 5:00-9:00pm for a total cost of $240. Laura <br />will serve as MC to introduce the bands. It was agreed by all that the event will be held rain or <br />shine with the Cabin serving as the new stage and the food trucks parking near the building out <br />of the fire lane. James confirmed that specific member assignments and final event details will be <br />discussed at the July 18ffi meeting.
