ti <br />setback from the rear property line. Mr. Chalkley clarified that the existing garage is 16 feet by <br />20 feet and they want to build a 20 foot by 20 foot garage. Ms. Chalkley stated that the garage <br />could not be built closer to the house because it would be difficult to maneuver a car to the <br />garage. The garage would be 4 feet from the rear property line, 3 feet, 9 inches from the side <br />property, and 15 feet from the rear of the home. Mr. Raig pointed out that a garage could not be <br />built on the property without a variance. <br />Mr. Allain moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the following variances for 18- <br />12072; Diane Chalkley; 5145 Andrus Avenue: <br />1. A 1 ft. 3 in. variance for side yard setback for a new garage; code requires 5 ft., <br />applicant shows 3 ft. 9 in., Section 1135.02(B)(1)(c). <br />2. A 6 ft. varianee for rear yard setback for a new garage; code requires 10 ft., applicant <br />shows 4 ft., Section 1135.02(B)(1)(c). <br />Motion passed 4-0. <br />18-12082; William Antal; 6037 Porter Road <br />Representative: William Antal <br />Proposal consists of a new garage. Property is zoned B-One Family Residence. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 1 ft. 11 in. variance for side yard setback of a garage; code requires 5 ft., applicant shows <br />3 ft. 1 in., Section 1135.06(B). <br />2. A 5 ft. 8 in. variance for rear setback of a garage; code requires 10 ft., applicant shows <br />4 ft. 4 in., Section 1135.06(D). <br />Mr. Aspery said the applicant is proposing to construct a new 18.3 foot by 20.4 foot detached <br />garage in the rear yard. Setback variances are required for both the side and rear yard; code <br />requires a 5 foot setback from the side property line while a 3 foot, 1 inch side yard setback is <br />shown. Code also requires a 10 foot setback from the rear property line while the applicant <br />shows a 4 foot, 4 inch setback from the rear property line. Mr. Antal said a tree fell on the <br />current garage and he wants to use the existing garage foundation for the new garage. Mr. <br />Aspery stated that a new foundation would need to be built per the building code. Mr. Raig <br />pointed out that the foundation is not within the prevue of the board. Mr. Papotto believed the lot <br />is small and the garage could not be built anywhere else, Mr. Raig agreed. <br />Mr. Allain moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the following variances for 18- <br />12082; William Antal; 6037 Porter Road: <br />1. A 1 ft. 11 in. variance for side yard setback of a garage; code requires 5 ft., applicant <br />shows 3 ft. 1 in., Section 1135.06(B). <br />2.
