8. Value Citv Furniture; 4700 Great Northern Bivd: (WRD 4) <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a new wall sign. <br />• A special pernut to alter a non-confornung building (1165.02 (B 1)). <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 110 square foot variance for a wall sign larger than code permits, (code pernuts 100 sq ft, <br />applicarbt shows 210 sq ft). <br />2. A 4 foot variance for a wall sign higher than code permits, (code permits 4', applicant shows <br />8'). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section; (1163.27 (C)). <br />Mr. Euzondo with American Signature came forward to be sworn in and address the request. Mr. <br />Euzondo indicated that they would like to use the vacant building that was to be Dicks sporting <br />goods. He indicated that the proposed sign is the smallest sign Value City makes. The distance of <br />the building from the street is a burden. Mr. O'Ma11ey reviewed that the applicants had been <br />working closely with the city to address a number of issues within the plaza and suggested the <br />board review Planning Commissions recommendation. Mr. Maloney read aloud Planning <br />Commissions recoinmendation to approve the variances requested. <br />Moved to grant Value City Furniture of 4700 Great Northern Blvd their request for variance <br />(1123.12), wlaich consists of a new vvall sign and that the following requests are granted: <br />• A special permit to alter a non-conforming building (1165.02 (B 1)). <br />1. A 110 square foot variance for a waH sign larger than code permits, (code permits 100 sq <br />ft, applicant shows 210 sq ft). <br />2. A 4 foot variance for a wall sign higher than code permits, (code permits 41, applicant <br />shows 8'). ` <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section; (1163.27 (C)). Approval is conditioned upon no <br />ground signs being requested for the sife. W: Kremzar seconded the motion which was <br />unanimously approved. Variances Granted <br />III. REVIEW AND CORItECTION OF NIINUTES: <br />• The Board of Zoning Appeals minutes dated August 4, 2005 are submitted for approval. <br />Mr. O'Ma11ey indicated that he should have offered his assistance to draft the fmdings of the <br />Halleen proposal and suggested that if the board wished he would draft the findings and submit <br />them for the board's next meeting. He further requested that the clerk accurately list out a11 <br />documents submitted at the meeting in her minutes. The board requested the law deparhnent <br />submit the board's findings and the clerk list out all documents submitted within the minutes. <br />M. Diver moved to talble the August 4, 2005 Board of Zoning Appeals minutes and requested <br />the clerk list out all documents submitted within the minutes and the Law Department <br />subnait findings. N. Sergi seconded the motion, whfch was unaoimously approved. <br />• The Board of Zoning Appeals minutes dated June 2, 2005, Case number # 10 (N. O.
