REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NIINUTES:
Ms. Nader made a motion to approve the minutes of November l dth. Mr. Ma,lone seconded the
motion, which was unanimously approved.
III. OLD BUSINESS
IV. NEW BUSINESS
HH Greggt 4706 Great Northern Blvd (WRD 4):
Mr. Bill Hockman, architect representing HH 'Gregg, gave an overview of the project and
reviewed changes that were made based upon recommendations from the Planning Commission.
He indicated that the storefront bollards had been removed. No planter boxes in lieu of bollards
were proposed at this time, but might still be explored. The materials for tlie building would
match the materials for Value City Furniture (VCF), which will locate next door. Planting areas
would be located araund the main entrance area. I3ecorative lighting would provide wall wash
lighting to the building. The rear loading dock would be enclosed and the existing fence
replaced with a steel pipe ra.il fence.
1VIs. Nader asked if there would be exposed mechanical units on the roof. Mr. Hockman said
there would be smaller replacement units located on the roof. Ms. Nader explained that all
mechanical units needed to be located as to not be visnble or be screened on the rooftop.
Ms. Wenger read an email with comments she received from Mr. Crook who was unable to
attend the meeting. Mr. Crook had recommended a rowlock above the top soldier course of
brick that would projeet and provide a shadow line. He also recommended that the decorative
light fixtures be a more contrasting color to the EIFS, such as black. The Board discussed that
black or a brown or bronze color would be appropriate.
The Board discussed that the plans submit#ed showed a greater contrast in material colors than
the samples which were submitted. However, they felt that materials should match VCF.
