Lang felt that chimneys would be within their jurisdiction if a permit is pulled. Mr. Schumann
indicated that even windows are within their jurisdiction if an owner changes the style or headers on
existing windows as that does require permits. Mrs. Lord felt that a commissioner should speak with
the owners of the chimney about the existing whole and the work done on the chimney. Mr. Lang
indicated that he would follow up with the building department to see if in fact permits are required
for work on chimneys. COMMUNICATIONS:

V. COMIVIITTEE REPORTS:
Mrs. Lord reported that she and Mrs. Thogmartin met to brainstorm what facts each of them knew
about the Stearns home and as there is a change for the home in the near future they did not finish
completing the application. She suggested that a letter from Planning Director Wenger suggests that
the Stearns home is the oldest home in North Olmsted, but that is not true the Stearns original cabin
would have been the oldest home. She would like to get some update on what Landmarks would
like to do if anything. To get a city owned property registered with the National Registry it would
first re.quire going through City Government then Ohio Historical Society then be submitted for the
National Registry. She questioned if Landmarks felt that the registry needed to be completed on an
emergency bases or through the normal cycle. She would continue to try to gather historical
information on the Stearns home and Mr. Schock would speak with Mr. Steve McQuillin regarding
raising funds to move the home. The commission may look to plaque the home and Mr. Schumann
would speak with former Mayor Musial as he is the seller's attorney.
Mrs. Lord would try to find Stearns family ancestors who may still be in the area. The clerk was
asked to go back through minutes to get the name of the family member who sent the commission a
letter tliree years ago. Mr. Schumann suggested asking the local papers to do an article asking for a
white night to help rescue the home or even possibly a Stearns family member. The commission
will wait until winter to do the City tour.
Mr. Lang indicated that Bob Lamb picked up the door from his home to be delivered to the
Historical Society. They believe that the door could be sold at a good price. The remaining items
are still in Mr. Lang's garage
VI. OLD BUSINESS:
CLG Application items:
Mr. Lang reviewed that he took pictures of the historical plaques in North Olmsted. The
comniissioners will resubmit their resumes and Mr. Schumann would be gathering and submitting
infarmation on Frostville Museum for the application. Minor clerical items need to be changed to
update Mayor, Council members and things of that nature. He advised that Ms. Wenger would be
creating and submitting the cover sheet for the applications. Commission still needs list of past
SITES students.
VII. ADJOURNMENT:
T. Schock moved to adjourn the meeting. P. Schumann seconded the motion, which was
unanimously approved. Meeting Adjourned at 8:45 pm.
o %v / G ?
Jose,lig Lang CWikman / Date?
