. .? ' 8
and then give it to Council Clerk to ask Council members to co sponsor the legislation.
Once that is done an ordinance is drafted and put on a docket for first reading.
Commissioners reviewed which resumes were on file and which of the members would still
need to submit their resumes for the applications. Board members B. Lord, M. Davis, R.
Koeth, Clerk of Commission D. Rote, Planning Director K. Wenger, and Assistant Law
Director B. O'Malley each need to submit their resumes to be placed in the application. The
Site students were asked to submit their resumes as well. Mr. O'Malley indicated that he
has come across maps of the district which he will provide and a map of the entire
jurisdiction showing all properties listed will need to be acquired. Mrs. Lord inquired if the
City had any mapping programs they could use or if they would have to go to the County for
maps.
Each site students was aslced to submit a calendar showing their availability and a phone
number where they can be reached. If the students preferred the commission go through the
Site teachers they will need to provide the contact and names of the teachers. Each sub
committee was encouraged to generate work for the three site students to work on. Mr.
Schumann advised that the Historical Society was excited about using the site students as
well. He will make sure that the students complete their required hours by completing work
for the commission or with the historical society. He indicated that the Historical Society
has a new web page which is www.olmstedhistoricalsociety.org. He indicated that web page
has been updated and is quite good and encouraged the commission to visit the web site.
The commission was advised that they could join Frostville Museum for $10.00 and receive
monthly newsletters. The commission agreed that it would be to their benefit to join.
VII. OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Schumann reviewed possible plans for the Barton Road Church which is being moved
to the Frostville Museum. The commissioners discussed that if the plaque was not found
when the church is moved then they would order a new plaque for the church so it can be
displayed on the home at the museum. Mr. O'Malley advised commissioners that to plaque
any building or structure it would require a Council-matic action.
Mr. Lang advised that he met with the Clerk and has requested that she gather their section
of the Charter (165) and copies of any ordinances that have been passed regarding
Landmarks so all the legislation required would be in order. Mr. O'Malley advised that he
would tallc with the clerk of commissions about trying to get a certified copy of the original
ordinance creating Landmaxlc's from Clerlc of Council. He believes that it may serve the
commission better than a current ordinance.
VIII. ADJOUItNMENT:
M. Davis moved to adjourn the meeting. B. Lord seconded the motion which was
unanimously approvecl. Meeting adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
4
