<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMIVIISSION <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />1 UESDAY, JUNE 14, 2005 <br />7:30 PM <br />1. CAUCUS: <br />H. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Spalding called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Board Members: S. Hoff-Smith, W. Spalding, J. Lasko, R. Bohlmann, G. Conaway <br />ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director Wenger, Asst. I.aw Director O'Malley, Assistant Building <br />Commissioner Rymarczyk, City Engineer Durbin, Substitute Cierk Kilbane <br />ABSENT: Chairman R. Koeth, Board Member M. Yager <br />Mr. Spalding invited all to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of Flag Day. <br />Mr. Conaway was swom in by Mayor Thomas O'Grady. <br />Mr. Spalding amended the agenda to address lot spiits and consolidation proposals first. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Planning Commission minutes from May 24, 2004, have been submitted for approval. Mr. <br />Spalding inciicated a conection to Iast paragraph on Iast page should be Commission, not <br />Committee. Mr. Spalding moved to approve the minutes as amended, Ms. Hoff-Smith seconded <br />the motion, which was unanimously approved. Mr. Cona.way abstained. <br />III. COMMU1vICATIONS: <br />City Hall Front Entrance Proiecf: <br />Ms. Wenger reported tha.t this project was approved by City Council for 2005 to make certain <br />ADA improvements to the front entrance. This would inciude appropriate ramps and sliding <br />doors for access to City HaII. Council passed an ordinance authorizing the City to acquire an <br />architect from Middough Consultuhg who progosed three different design options. She asked the <br />Commission for comments, suggestions and general direction. After hearing a few options, the <br />Commission voiced that tliey Iilced'Scheme H. It had round glass wluch ties into the round <br />elements that are on the library and Old Town Hal1. This lends a feeiing towazds a civic <br />presence. Ms. Wenger said that the goal of the redesign is to mQVe in a better design direction. <br />Also, the CounciUCaucus room will be redesigned and is scheduled for completion in February <br />2006. <br />IV.
