CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CULTUI2AI, ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />OLD TOVVN HALL <br />JANUARY 4, 2006 <br />MINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairinan Garland called the ineeting to order at 6:45 pm. <br />PRESENT: R. Garland, G. Yustick, B. Martindale, D. Wahl, F. Curry and D. Frazier. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner B. Browri. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />R. Garland stated that as there were no coa-reetions or additions to the Cultural Activities <br />Commission minutes dated Deeember 7, 2005 they are approved as written. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />B. Martindale moved to appoint Royden Garland Chairman of the 2006 Cultural <br />Activities Commission. G. Yustick seconded the motion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />G. Yustick moved to appoint Beverle Martindale Vice Chairwomaaa of the 2006 Cultural <br />Activities Commission. D. Frazier seconded the anotion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />The commissioners reviewed their new terms which the Mayor submitted and Council <br />approved. Mr. Yustick advised the commission that the Mayor would be attending their <br />February 1, 2006 meeting to swear in the commissioners. The Commission would like more <br />members particularly Mr. Jolul Kepperly. <br />Mr. Garland reviewed that the Church groups he contacted all said they would like to <br />participate in Holiday Caroling but they would need a few months notice to prepare for the <br />event. He wanted the commissioners to start thinking of when they would like to have the <br />different groups perform so they can start making arrangements for the 2006 Holiday Season. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Yustick advised that he was waiting to hear from Mr. Schumann as to how things would <br />proceed with the Historical Society allowing an art show to be held at Frostville Museum. <br />Mrs. Martindale suggested inviting David & Renate Jakupca with the International Center for <br />Environmental Arts to the ai-t show. <br />Mrs. Martiizdale said that the play did well and with donations collected they only lost a total <br />of $10.00 by the time they worked out the cost to perform the play. The Dover Players are <br />thiiilcing of performing the play "Death Trap" in the fall but that is not confirmed. They will <br />perform a spring play as well as two others in 2006. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Yusticlc invited the commission to hear him perform a program on the accordion i.e. how it <br />worlcs, play soine songs that are common on the accordion and a grand finale. The program is <br />called The Other Side of the Accordion and will take place at the Berea Fine Arts School the <br />second Thursday of February @ 7:00 pm. <br />VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />VII.
