CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION MEETING <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2006 <br />MINUTES <br />1. CAUCUS: <br />Planning & Design Commission organization: 6:45 PM <br />Commissioners met with Planning Director Kimberl.y Wenger and were introduced to City staff <br />members they would be working with. Commissioners elected John Lasko to serve as acting <br />Chairman until their Rules of Procedures were established. Commissioners Bohlmann, Lasko <br />and Mahoney volunteered to serve on a committee to create Rules of Procedures for the new <br />Planning & Design Commission. <br />Prior to roll call being taken Mayor O'Grady swore in the seven new Planning & Design <br />Commissioners. <br />II. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Lasko called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br />PRESENT: J. Lasko, M. Yager, R. Bohlmann, J. Cotner, G. Malone, M. Meredith and M. <br />Mahoney. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mayor T. O'Grady, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Planning Director <br />K. Wenger, Building Commissioner D. Conway, Assistant Engineer C. Becker and Clerk of <br />Commissions D. Rote. <br />III. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Yager advised that he was not present for any discussions or motions prior to the hhgreg <br />proposal during the meeting of December 13, 2005. <br />J. Lasko moved to approve the Planning Commission minutes of December 13, 2005, as <br />corrected. R. Bohlmann seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />V. OLD BUSINESS: <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Boss Office Park; 28900 Lorain Road (WRD #3) <br />Proposal consists of 2 additional office buildings. Note: Variances are required. <br />Department reports: <br />Planning Director Wenger reviewed that it was the applicant's first appearance before the <br />Commission. They met with City staff during a pre-submission conference in April 2005 and <br />were given a number of recommendations which was summarized in a memo that was included <br />in the commissioner's packets. <br />The proposal consists of the second and final phase of the office park development, including <br />two buildings and some landscaping improvements. The proposal was originally approved by <br />Council in 1986. In reviewing past minutes and approvals, it has been discovered that some <br />1
