Sergi moved to table Douglas Thompson of 5479 Columbia Road his request for variance <br />(1123.12), which consists of a new shed. M. Diver seconded the motion which was unanimously <br />approved. Tabled. <br />4. William Scherer; 3169 Clague Road: (WRD # 2) <br />Request for variance (1123:12). The proposal consists of a new garage. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 5 foot rear yard variance for a detached garage too close to rear property line, (code requires <br />" 10' applicant shows 5'). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section; (1135.02(C 2)). <br />Mr. Scherer the owner came forward to be sworn in and address the request. Mr. Scherer advised <br />that 'the Board of Zoning Appeals granted him the 5-foot variance for his garage but due .to his <br />failing health he was unable to construct the garage within the 1 year period and the variance <br />expired. His friends and family members have volunteered to financially and physically help him <br />construct his garage which is required by city codes. He would like to have the garage pad and front <br />steps installed prior to the winter months setting in. Mrs. Diver suggested that the front steps and <br />railing was a safety hazard and should be addressed first. Mr. Maloney advised that the garage <br />would need downspouts and be tied into the storm water drain. Mr. Scherer stated that the new <br />garage would include a drain and would comply with the engineering requirements. He suggested <br />that the electrical wiring for the garage would be installed later when funds are available. <br />T. Kelly moved to grant William Scherer of 3169 Clague Road his request for variance <br />(1123.12), which consists of a new garage and that the following variance is granted: <br />1. A.9 inch variance for a wall sign higher than code allows (SG-1), (code permits 4', applicant <br />shows 4'9"), section (1163.27 (C)). <br />4. A 45 foot variance for ground signs too close to each other (exist sign & SG-5), (code requires <br />200', applicant shows 155'), section (1163.26 (A)). <br />5. A 100 foot variance for ground sign too close to each other (SG-5 & SG-6), (code requires 200', <br />applicant shows 100'), section (1163.26 (A)). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1163.27 (A)), (1163.26 (A)), and (1163.27 (C)). <br />Note: #2 includes existing ground sign, new ground sign (SG-5), and new directional sign (SG-6). <br />3
