LANDMARKS COMIVTIS5ION <br />CITY OF NORTgI OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 8, 2007 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Old Town Hall. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Dale Thomas, Maryellen Davis, Tom Dubowslti, Tom Schoclc <br />Absent: Larry Orlowslci, John Lasko Jr. <br />Staff: Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley ,v ?? <br />REVIEW AN3) CORRECTif)loT OF I1UNUTES <br />Mrs. Davis moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowslci, to accept the minutes for the September 10, <br />2007 meeting, which was unanimously approved. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Historical Markers <br />Mr. Thomas stated that the markers will be delivered at the end of the month. Mr. Schumann <br />spolce to City Hall and the marlcer ceremony is being arranged. The Doolittle marlcer is also <br />being pursued as Mr. Thomas waits for word on a grant from NASA as well as possible approval <br />by City Council. Mr. Schumann suggested placing it on an agenda next month. Mr. Thomas is <br />also waiting to hear from Wal Mart about a possible grant for the Pealcs Marlcer. Mr. Schumann <br />suggested that the Historical Society will assist with funding. The marlcer will go soinewhere <br />near Masticlc and Clague Roads. <br />Fire Station #2 Stones <br />Mr. Schoclc discussed the stones from the Stearns house. He presented the plan for the stones <br />which he added to the Fire Station plan. Mr. Schoclc suggested that the stones could be used in a <br />circular formation or as a wall. The Commission discussed a variety of options for use of the <br />stones. No decision was made however they would like to spealc with Jack Boss regarding the <br />design as well as utilizing a mason for work. <br />Proclaination <br />Mrs. Lord's proclamation has been forwarded to the Mayor for his signature of approval. The <br />Proclamation will be presented to Mrs. Lord at the next City Council meeting. Mrs. Davis said <br />that Betty Lord was instnunental in establishing the Landmarks Commission in North Olmsted. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Disulav Case <br />Mr. Schumann noted that he spolce with Kim Wenger regarding installing a case for Charles <br />Seltzer's possessions. The case will need to be supplied by the Historical Society which may <br />require some fund raising. The city will need to decide specifically what is appropriate for the
