J <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />• BOARD OF ZO1vING APPEALS <br />HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />JANUARY 4, 2007 <br />MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairwoman Diver called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm <br />Present: J. Burke, M. Diver, T. Kelly, N. Sergi <br />Also Present: Bryan O'Malley, Asst. Law Director; Dave Conway, Building Commissioner <br />Mr. Burke moved to postpone the election until the end of the meeting seconded by Ms. <br />Sergi, which was unanimously approved. <br />II. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR: <br />Mrs. Diver moved to elect Mr. Burke as Chair for 2007, seconded by Mrs. Sergi, which <br />was unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Burke moved to elect Mrs. Diver as Vice Chair for 2007, seconded by Mrs. Sergi, <br />which was unanimously approved. <br />III. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />16 Mrs. Sergi moved to approve the minutes for December 7, 2006, seconded by Mr. <br />Kelly, which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS: <br />V. NON-RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS: <br />1. Victoria Plaza; 26101 Countrv Club Blvd (WRD #4) <br />The proposal consists of signage. The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 36.5 square foot variance for a wall sign larger than code permits. Code allows 100 <br />square feet, applicant shows 136.5 square feet (Section 1163.27(c)). <br />2. A 10 foot variance for a wall sign higher than permitted by code. Code allows 4 feet, <br />applicant shows 14 feet (Section 1163.27(c)). <br />The Chair swore in individuals addressing the application. <br />Brad Petro the sign company representative said the request for signage will be for wall <br />letters for the east side of the building. The building is under renovation to upgrade the <br />property as well as new signage, including a new monument outside the front. The area of <br />the sign is about one hundred square feet for the sign to be visible and serve its purpose. The <br />height of the sign is fourteen feet, ten inches which is over the four foot height limit in the <br />? code.
