LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUBCOIVIMITTEE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 8, 2008 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Subcommittee Chair Thomas called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Dale Thomas, Paul Schumann, Thomas Schock <br />Staff: Secretary Tricia Granfors <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Continuing Education Sqeaker's Program <br />Mr. Schumann reported that Deneen Kassouf, public outreach coordinator for the Cuyahoga <br />County Recorder, offered to make a presentation to Landmarks members, which Mr. Schumann <br />feels would make a good first continuing education event. Ms. Kassouf recently made a similar <br />presentation for the Westlake Historical Society. Mr. Thomas has scheduled a meeting with Ms. <br />Kassouf at the North Olmsted Branch Library on January 6, 2009. She will research records for <br />several homes as selected by the Commission and report on her findings. The Lincoln (Castor) <br />House at 27501 Butternut Ridge Road, the Palumbo (Standen) House at 25684 Kennedy Ridge <br />Road, Dave Neville's coach house, and possibly the Schumarin House at 27137 Butternut Ridge <br />will be submitted to Ms. Kassouf for research. The public will be invited to the presentation. <br />Certified Local Government (CLG.) Application <br />The review of the application and assembled documents continued from Checklist Application <br />Page 5, Section IV, Question 1. A comprehensive review of the current historic inventory will <br />be done in 2009. Secretary Granfors will contact the Ohio Historical Society to request an <br />electronic version of the Ohio Historic Inventory form. A complete list from the 1985 survey <br />including a Google Earth or similar map, and a Frostville map should be included for Page 6, <br />Question 3. A cover letter signed by Mayor O'Grady will be the final item required to complete <br />the application. The meeting was concluded after review of Checklist Application Page 6, <br />Section V, Question 3. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The next meeting of the Certified Local Government Subcommittee is scheduled for Monday, <br />January 12, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. before the January Landmarks Commission meeting.
