LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUBCOMMITTEE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 25, 2008 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Subcommittee Chair Thomas called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. in the Finance <br />Department 1Vleeting Room. <br />Present: Dale Thomas, Paul Schumann, Thomas Schock <br />Staff: Secretary Tricia Granfors <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Draft 2008 Landmarks Commission Annual Renort <br />The draft aruiual report was briefly reviewed and discussed. This report is required as part of the <br />Certified Local Government application. The introduction will be based on the Landmarks <br />Commission mission statement, which Mr. Schumann will compose. The subcommittee <br />members will thoroughly review the text and propose changes and revisions. <br />Certified Local Government (CLG) Application <br />The review of the application and assembled documents continued from Checklist Application <br />Page 3, Question 5. A variety of documents listing plaqued or historically recognized homes <br />were found, all incomplete and most not dated. An attempt will be made to combine and <br />complete these records. The CLG application requires commission members to attend training <br />or educational sessions at least once per year. A schedule of educational events will be arranged <br />for 2009 and documented for the application. A proposal to make it a requirement for <br />Landmarks Commission members to attend educational events each year will be discussed at the <br />December meeting. The meeting was concluded after review of Checklist Application Page 4, <br />Section III, Question 3(a). Checklist pages five and six remain. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The next meeting of the Certified Local Government Subcommittee is scheduled for Monday, <br />December 8, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. before the December Landmarks Commission meeting.
