state of Ohio. Mr. Evans said the ordinance would turn things on its head and at the same time it
may be a good thing to listen to what the residents want first. He read an Abraham Lincoln
quote regarding the will of the people. Mr. Gorris is concerned as Butternut Ridge Road has
inore than one large parcel of land along the road and rezoning will set a precedent for other
large lots along Butternut and decrease the value of the hoines of the historic district; therefore
he feels it should be up to the vote of the people. Mrs. Shear said the residents have an interest
in what is going on in their neighborhoods and even when neighbors come to the meetings they
don't feel they are being heard nor have a final say. Mrs. Meredith said that the Commission
heard what was being said and there were significant changes made to the development based on
what was said at the meetings. Just because the Commission did not turn it down does not mean
the Coininission is not talcing into account the residents comments. Mr. Laslco said they would
table the matter to malce sure they have a full commission and an opportunity to study the matter
more thoroughly.
1VIr. Lasko moved, seconcled by 1dIrs. Meredith, to table Ordinance 2008-131 until the
Commissiou's next meeting. Roll call: Lasko, Meredith, Bohlmann, Rerko - yes, Cotner -
no. Motion approved 4-1.
Ms. Wenger said that she was worlcing on an ordinance addressing wind energy and would lilce
to continue to worlc with the zoning advisory committee who already had two meetings
addressing the topic. Once the ordinance is in working order it would be submitted to Council
and worlc its way baclc before the Commission. She will send documentation to the Commission
so they can familiarize themselves with the topic.
Mr. Laslco moved, seconded by 1VIr. Bohlmann, to excuse the absence of li'Is. Williamson
and 1VI?•. Malone, which was unanimously approved 5-0.
ADdOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 pm.
?
J h J. Laslc, r., Chair onna Rote, Clerlc of Commissio
Approved:
///, Zzze???
