Mr. Claus was working towards receiving a state license. Mrs. Sabo questioned if it was
possible for a worker of a company to not know if a permit has been pulled or not and Mr.
Mitchell said anything was possible but all permits are required to be posted and visible. Mr.
Meder aslced how many denials issued by the building department had been appealed and Mr.
Mitchell said Mr. Claus's appeal was the first for North Olmsted. Mr. Meder asked if the matter
could be tabled and additional information submitted and Mr. O'Malley said if the board felt
they needed addition evidence they could tabled the matter. Mrs. Sabo questioned if Mr. Claus
had ever obtained a state license for any work he has performed or always worlced under a
company and Mr. Claus said he has never had a state license was always employed by a
company. Mrs. Sabo asked if the building official had the authority to revoke a temporary
license if he felt the requirements were not being met and Mr. Mitchell said he could. Mrs. Sabo
questioned if there was any registered contractor working within the city on a probationary
license and Mr. Mitchell said there was not. Mrs. Sabo questioned if Mr. Claus had any intent to
seek a state license and Mr. Claus said no. Mr. Meder aslced if residential would have to be
stipulated or is it clarified under the city codes.
