This is conditioned upon the red metal accent banding remaining as shown on <br />the plans submitted 12/12/2008, which can never be converted into any other signage form. <br />Roll call; Bellido, Rudolph, Menser-yes, Diver, Sergi-no variance granted 3-2. <br />Ms. Rudolph moved, seconded by Mrs. Sergi, to grant Save-A-Lot of 23000 Lorain Road a <br />106.6 square foot variance for total square footage of wall signs on a unit, code permits 96 <br />sq ft, applicant shows 202.6 sq ft, section 1163.25 (c). This is conditioned upon the red metal <br />accent banding remaining as shown on the plans submitted 12/12/2008, which can never be <br />converted into any other signage form. The proposal consists of a wall sign <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 2 foot variance for a wall sign higher than code allows code permits 4' applicant shows 6', <br />section 1163.28 C <br />Mr. Jeff Kerr with Atwell Hiclcs and Mr. Zachery Glazer with B& G Property owners each came <br />forward to be sworn in and address the requests. Mr. Kerr said the request for reconsideration is <br />to allow them an opportunity to provide the board visual graphics showing the difference <br />between the sign they are allowed by code and their proposed sign. Their request is 70% less <br />than what they are allowed by code and they believe that their 30 square foot sign meets the <br />intent of the zoning code as it does not clutter the site. The distance from the street to the sign is <br />240 feet and if the proposed sign is decreased to a 3 x 4 foot sign it reduces letter sizes to 8 <br />inches which would not be legible from the street. The proposed 6 x 5 foot sign has 14 inch <br />letters which is substantially smaller than 4 foot letters. The sign is an architectural design which <br />was incorporated into the building design.
