CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />2009 MEETING INDEX <br />APRIL 1, 2009 <br />¦ March 4, 2009 Minutes <br />¦ Guests: LCC Student Kelsey Farrell, Secretary Tricia Granfors <br />¦ Juried Arts & Crafts Festiva12009: One application & one inquiry have been <br />received. Chelsea Schumann has requested the Bowling Green State University Arts <br />Enterprise program be considered for inclusion in the art show. Mr. Kepperley felt <br />incoiporating the entire package into the art show this year would not be possible; <br />discussion will continue at the May meeting on including some facet of the program. <br />¦ Centennial of Village of North Olmsted & City Schools: Tricia Granfors introduced <br />ideas for Cultural Activities and Dover Players involvement in commemorating the <br />centeiulial at Homecoming by either performing short slcits with a local historical <br />theme or by marching in the parade in period dress and props. Ms. Martindale will <br />worlc on the parade idea. The parade application was provided to Mr. Garland. <br />¦ Dover Players: The first weekend performances of 3 Gems of SherlockHolmes were <br />well attended. An even larger attendance is expected for the next performances. Ms. <br />Martindale reviewed the Dover Player's scholarship fund. <br />¦ Historic Homes ofNorth Olmsted Spealcer Series: Public Outreach Coordinator <br />Deneen Kassouf of the County Recorder's Office will share the results of her research <br />on several historic homes in North Olmsted and the research methods and procedures <br />open to the public. <br />MAY 6, 2009 <br />¦ April 1, 2009 Minutes <br />¦ 2009 Juried Arts & Crafts Festival: New entries reviewed; eleven artists approved to <br />date. <br />¦ Centenni al of Village of North Olmsted and City Schools - Parade Entry: Ms. <br />Martindale has begun to plan Cultural Activities entry. <br />¦ Cemetery Iinp.rovement Project Fundraisin Eg vent: Directar Wenger requests Dover <br />Players consider raising funds for cemetery improvements during the Artficl Murder <br />perforinances in October and November 2009 with an added Halloween theme. <br />¦ Northei7l Ohio Music Festival: Chelsea Schumaml will attend the June 3 Cultural <br />Activities meeting to discuss the Northern Oh?o Music Festiyal, which is to be held at <br />Frostville Museum on July 26. The festival will feature local musicians. <br />¦ Dover Players Update <br />JUNE 3, 2009 <br />¦ May 6, 2009 Minutes <br />¦ 2009 Juiā¢ied Arts & Crafts Festival: New entries reviewed. <br />¦ Mr. Kepperley submitted information on two new applicants. Almost 70 pieces of <br />artworlc Uy the North Olmsted High School students have been selected for display at <br />the festival. <br />¦ Northern Ohio Music Festival, Julv 26, 2009: Chelsea Schumann of Bowling Green <br />University explained the purpose of Arts Enterprise, a non-profit arts advocacy and <br />outreach group.
