The grand champion winner was the <br />Frostville entry. Kiwanis won first place non-commercial entry and Cultural <br />Activities won third place non-commercial. Mr. Kepperley said he felt the Calce & Ice <br />Cream Social Friday night in the Big Tent at Homecoming went very well. <br />Artfiil Murder Cemeterv Improvement Project Fundraising: CAC members do not <br />feel Dover Players should need to raise funds for another project, which may talce <br />fiom donations needed for their costs. <br />Holiday Lighting Contest 2009: Changes discussed including having participants talce <br />their own photos and updating the flyer with photo-taking strategies. Mr. Kepperley <br />will approach Community Council concerning prizes. <br />Dover Players Update <br />OCTOI3ER 7, 2009 <br />¦ September 2, 2009 Minutes <br />¦ Holiday Lighting Contest 2009: Mr. Wahl submitted revised contest rules for review. <br />One of the changes is for applications to be submitted with at least two photographs. <br />Mr. Kepperley and Mr. Wahl request the City supply both the engraved oinaments <br />and certil'icates for this year's contest. The Cultural Activities Commission will <br />solicit additional prizes from local businesses. Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by <br />Mr. 4'iistick to approve the changes to the contest rules as submitted by Mr. <br />Wahl, wliich was unanimously approved. <br />¦ Christmas Festival at Old Town Hall: Mr. Kepperley and Mr. Wahl will secure live <br />music for December 29. The possibility of scheduling for one night instead of two <br />was discussed. Due to her busy schedule and the ininimal interest in 2008 Mrs. <br />Martindale will not produce a puppet show this year. <br />¦ Dover Pla epdate <br />NOVEMI3E12 4, 2009 <br />¦ OctoUer 7, 2009 minutes <br />¦ Holiciav Lighting Contest 2009: The next Cultural Activities Cominission meeting <br />will be nloved from December 2 to December 16 in order to review the contest <br />photos stibmitted. <br />¦ Christmas Festival at Old Town Hall: Mr. Wahl reported that the band Minimum <br />Requirements will not perform at the event this year. Mr. Kepperley spolce to <br />Chelsea Schuinann about the Bowling Green Arts Enterprise group perfonning; <br />discussioils will continue. Mr. Kepperley suggested the event may be designed. <br />differently than previous years but at this time it is uncertain whether the event will <br />talce place. <br />¦ Juried Arts & Crafts Festival 2010: Mr. Yusticlc suggested mailing brochures to <br />businesses with a request they be displayed for the public. Mr. Kepperley does not <br />thinlc many businesses would comply with the request. The festival is scheduled for <br />August 8, 2010.
