vehicular to bicycle and pedestrian. Heavy traffic along Butternut Ridge is a concern; it could be <br />slowed or detoured. The retiming of the lights along Lorain Road for a faster traffic flow is also <br />an option. Ways to limit traffic without large changes to the street itself are being considered. <br />Part of the project may be the rehabilitation of Butternut Ridge as a two-lane road. Adding a <br />bicycle path and landscaping to Butternut Ridge may be included. This would reduce the <br />possibility of making Butternut a four-lane road in the future. At the conclusion of the planning <br />stage Ms. Wenger will pursue additional grants for the various improvements such as a bicycle <br />path that would connect with the cemetery and Metroparks. Ms. Wenger explained the plan is <br />still open and may be shaped in vaxious directions. Ms. Davis said she would be willing to serve <br />on the steering committee. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Schock, to a?ominate Ms. Davis as the Landmarks <br />Commission representative to the GNMIVITP Steering Comanittee, whicla was unanimously <br />approved. <br />Date <br />North Olmsted Citv Schools 100th Anniversary <br />The North Olmsted School System is turning 100 years old in 2009. Planning began for events <br />to celebrate this anniversary. One of the ideas is to create a permanent reminder of the history of <br />the district such as a photo mural with a timeline. She is hoping the Landmarks Commission or <br />the Olmsted Historical Society has photos and documents that could be incorporated into the <br />project. A traveling show was also discussed. Mr. Dubowski said there is a DVD in Old Town <br />Hall that contains video of the old high school and student activities that could be used.
