Ms. Wenger said if sign 6 meets code <br />and is tucked into the new entry she would support the request which was a good compromise as <br />most anchor stores have more than one identifier. Mr. Vlaeminck noted that without sign 6, <br />Retail A would be the largest tenant in the mall with only one identifier. Mr. Malone questioned <br />the effect of having two signs within the new entryway if the Westfield sign is not allowed above <br />the roofline. Mr. Vlaeminck said with sign 6 being 100 sq ft both signs would aesthetically fit <br />into the entryway. Mr. Bohlmann does not support having signs above the roofline as it would <br />set a bad precedent and felt the entryway was a good compromise. <br />Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Ms. Meredith, to recommend the Board of Zoning Appeals <br />grant CMS09-05 Westfield Great Northern Mall of 4954 Great Northern Mall the <br />following variances for Westfield sign 1: 1. A 4 ft height variance; code allows 4 ft and 8 ft <br />is shown. 2. A 103 sq ft variance for total sq ft; code allows 100 sq ft and 203 sq ft is shown, <br />which were unanimously approved 6-0. <br />Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mr. Malone, to recommend the Board of Zoning Appeals <br />grant CMS09-05 Westfield Great Northern Mall of 4954 Great Northern the following <br />variances for Westfield Signs 2& 3: 1. A 4110" height variance; code allows 4 ft and 8'10" <br />is shown. 2. A 147 sq ft variance for total sq ft; code allows 100 sq ft and 247 sq ft is shown, <br />which were unanimously approved 6-0. <br />Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to recommend the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals grant CMS09-05 Westfield Great Northern Mall of 4954 Great Northern the <br />following variance: A variance to allow Westfield signs 2& 3 to be placed above the <br />roofline. Roll call: Meredith, Malone, Williamson - yes; Bohlmann, Cotner, Lasko - no; <br />motion failed 3-3. <br />Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to recommend the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals grant CMS09-05 Westfield Great Northern Mall of 4954 Great Northern the <br />following variances for Westfield signs: 1. A variance for 1 additional wall sign if code only <br />allows 2 and 3 signs are shown. 2.
