CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITX OF N012TH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 3, 2010 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Yusticlc called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Branch Library. <br />Present: John Kepperley, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, Gerald Yustick <br />Absent: Barbara Brown, Nasreen Starner, Miguel Cora <br />REVIEW AlVD CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Kepperley movecl, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to approve the October 6, 2010 minutes as <br />written, which were approved 4-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Holidav Liahting Contest <br />The Coinmission discussed having the flyers distributed to the library, schools, Senior Center, <br />Recreation Center and Springvale Golf Course. The flyer also needs to be posted on the web site <br />and cable channel. The Commission would lilce to have a news release in the Plain Dealer letting <br />the general public lcnow of the contest. They hope to have more applicants this year. <br />Art Show/ Northern Ohio Music Festival <br />Mr. Kepperley reviewed that the commission would be working with Paul Schumann to create a <br />new logo for the art show and music festival held at Frostville on an annual basis. There had <br />been discussion regarding acquiring funds to hire a professional for the design. The Commission <br />has a couple of submissions which can be discussed at the next meeting. The Commission <br />would lilce to have the title of the show by the end of December and the logo finalized by the end <br />of January. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Dover Players <br />Mrs. Martindale reviewed that the play was going well and noted that each night thus far the <br />verdict has been the same. She noted that the food bank was now being housed in Old Town <br />Hall and the building was no longer accessible during the daytime. She is concerned that Dover <br />Players will not be able to hold their plays in the building any longer. Mr. Kepperley reviewed <br />that the food pantry will be moved to a house on Butternut Ridge Road which should be <br />completed early next year. Mr. Kepperley reviewed that the City received a grant for the <br />renovations taking place at the Butternut Ridge Road home. It was noted that there would be no <br />December plays or events conducted by the Dover Players at Old Town Hall.
