Homecomin2 Parade <br />Sllggestions of having a car or having someone wallc in an eagle costume were briefly discussed. <br />Mrs. Brown suggested contacting one of the car dealerships to see if they would lilce to donate a <br />convertible for use in the parade. <br />Holiday LitZhtinIZ Contest <br />Mr. Kepperley said if the commission was going to have the contest again there has to be more <br />publicity so more applicants are submitted. The commission could use the same brochure layout <br />that was used last year this year and each winner receives an engraved ornament. Mr. Wahl felt <br />that all entries would have to be submitted by Monday, Deceinber 13, 2010 and move the <br />DecemUer meeting date to December 15"' then judge the three finalists December 18, 2010 with <br />prizes awarded after the holiday season. <br />COMMITTEE I2EPORTS <br />Dover Plavers <br />Mis. Martindale said they have Ueen talcing in about $270.00 a night in donations which will <br />cover the $600.00 cost of the director. The play has been going well and there have been a <br />couple of articles in the local papers recently. The food banlc has taken one of their rooms which <br />was used for intei7nission to use as an office. She attended the meeting for the new location of <br />the food banlc and the new facility loolcs lilce it will be very nice but it is not going to be done <br />until next year which conflicts with this year's production season. Mr. Kepperley suggested <br />using the other rooin as the internzission area and Mrs. Martindale said that the first office is the <br />light, sound and storage area for props and other things and the basement area is used as dressing <br />rooms. The next play is the Question of Guilt and all dates have been set with the city. <br />Mr. Schumann said the youth who put on the music festival this year had a good turnout as there <br />were both youth and adult groups who perfonned. The Historical Society is loolcing at ways in <br />which they can have bigger. They recently had a Gas Engine Show which really did well as <br />there were about 2,000 visitors for the first show. The Frostville group has about 60 active <br />metnbers but having three shows baclc to back talces its toll on the volunteers. Frostville was <br />thinlcing of combining the Juried Art Show with the Music Festival and there could be three <br />stages setup far music which wouldn't interfere with the art show area and both events could <br />raise fiinds. The commission thought it would be a good inix to have the music and arts together. <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by 1VIr. Wahl to combine the Juried Art Show with the <br />Music Festival if they are in favor of combining the groups which was unanimously <br />approved 5-0. <br />The commission discussed raising the Juried Art Show price to $100.00 per entry possibly to see <br />if it wouldn't draw in more entries. Ms. Nemeth suggested raising the price in increments such <br />as next year the price could be $75.00 then two years from that move up to $100.00. She said <br />that most shows in the area are down in participants due to the economy. Saint John was a sale
