necessary. Mr. Kepperley inquired as to who would act as treasurer for the funds raised; he
offered the services of the North Olmsted Kiwanis in this capacity.
Demo tapes were played for five bands; The Hey-Yoos, a three-member all girl punk band;
Profran Rames, an acoustic/Indy/folk band; The Shoops, Alec Schumann's psychedelic Viking
rock band; Oliver Bean, an alternative rock bank; and Upon Impact, a three-member high school
modern/alternate rock cover band, which were all approved. More demo tapes will be presented
at the May meeting. Mr. Wahl recommends the Kiwanis, as event sponsors, sell concessions at
the concert. Mr. Schumann said the vendor license would require the food be prepackaged and
soft drinks must be Coca Cola products. He plans to discuss concessions with the North Olmsted
Band Boosters, also.
City Hall Art GalleY-y Proiect
Mr. Yustick reported the art hanging system has been received. He has reviewed the draft
application documents and recommends a couple changes. Under application procedures he
feels the year of image completion is not necessary. He also feels previous exhibits/displays
information is not necessary. If included, he feels it can be included in the artist's philosophy as
part of their bio. Mr. Kepperley thinks only the artist name and the title of the work is necessary.
Mr. Yustick would like to begin publicizing the project. He also recommends a framed flyer for
the Juried Arts & Crafts Festival be displayed along with the art work.
Mr. Kepperley moved, secondecl by 1VIr. Cora, to approve the application with the
recommended changes, which was approved, 6-0.
Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to request information on the Juried Arts
& Crafts Festival be displayed with the art wlork in the City Hall gallery, which was
approved, 6-0.
Asian Festival, May 22, 2010
Ms. Starner contacted Executive Director John Sobolweski of the Chamber of Commerce and
requested a donation and/or the possibility of filtering donations for this event through the
Chamber; Mr. Sobolweski declined. Director Wenger recommended she approach local business
and individuals directly for donations. A donor who wishes to remain anonymous donated
$50.00 for the booth fee. Ms. Starner has sent out letters to business in hopes of additional
donations for a banner and other supplies for the booth. The event will take place at the mall in
the Chinatown neighborhood in Cleveland, the East 30t" and Superior area, from 11:00 a.m. to
8:00 p.m. on May 22.
Communitv Council, Roval Ambassador Pros!ram
Mr. Wahl has no new information to report. Mr. Kepperley said a Community Council meeting
was held but was not widely posted. He expects to see some of the members next week and will
make an inquiry.
