Concerning the Frostville marker, Mr. Thomas reported he has not yet received word concerning <br />the $750 grant as expected in late April. An e-mail inquiry has been unsuccessful so he will try <br />to call the office. Mr. Schumann indicated if the grant is not awarded, the Olmsted Historical <br />Society is prepared to pay the entire amount for the marker. The plan is to receive the marker by <br />September so it may be included in the SOth anniversary celebration at Frostville. <br />Cemetery Improvement Plan <br />Pending surveying and staking issues with the surveying company a subcommittee meeting may <br />be scheduled next month. <br />City Identity & Branding Proiect <br />A community meeting will be held on May 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers where the <br />consultant will lead the participants in a visioning process to help reveal our City's identity. All <br />are welcome and encouraged to attend. <br />Stewards Prolzram: 2010 Application <br />Letters of support have been received from Representative Kucinich and the Cleveland <br />Metroparks. Director Wenger will complete and submit the nomination for the Olmsted <br />Historical Society within the next week. Mr. Schumann will submit information on Eagle Scout <br />projects and Mr. Thomas will submit additional information on student transcription projects for <br />the Olmsted Historical Society. <br />Ohio Historic Inventory I'orms Review <br />Mr. Schumann and Mr. Neville will review this project with Ms. Granfors. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Landmarks Guidelines Task Force <br />The Guidelines Subcommittee prepared and distributed some basic statements for review. Items <br />include roofs, siding, doors, windows, landscaping, decks, and driveways. Mr. Schumann will <br />compose language describing the purpose of the guidelines; Mr. Neville will perform editorial <br />work on the statements. The Subcommittee members requested the commissioners review, <br />comment upon, and recommend additional items to include in the guidelines. <br />On the subject of siding, Mr. Schumann said the issue of covering artificial siding has been <br />brought up in the past. Several homes on Butternut have siding manufactured with asbestos. He <br />has not found guidelines on best practices for removing or covering the material. Without clear <br />reputable facts, he doesn't feel the Commission has enough information to make <br />recommendations to residents on what to do with the siding. The Landmarks Commission <br />allowed Butternut Ridge homeowner Steve Wolf to cover up the asbestos material on his home <br />with vinyl.
