the trees would include mulch beds to ensure the site can be well maintained. Mr. Bohlmann
said he was in favor of the improvements. Mrs. Meredith said unlike the valley which is a
natural state the site appears to be an abandoned area. She would like to see trees planted which
would provide color throughout the fall. Mr. Malone said the Red Oaks, Sugar Maples, and
Ornamental Pears could be used to provide fall colors. Mr. Rerko agreed that the landscaping
was needed to enhance the site. Mr. Bohlmann said he has great respect for the City Forester's
opinion but thought the site should be improved. Mr. Lasko asked if the commission could
approve the proposal based on the comments. Ms. Wenger said it would be up to the
commission if they felt the changes requested could be made, submitted and handled through
staff review. Board members said they would defer to Mr. Malone to review the new landscape
plan. Mr. Lasko said based on the commission's consensus they would be comfortable moving
on the proposal. Mr. Lydon said as they are changing from a natural to designed site they will
have an engineer address stormwater requirements and a landscape professional will design the
new landscape plan.
Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann to approve CMS10-01: Fairview Office
Park; PPN 237-23-023, which consists of modifications to previously approved landscape
plans subject to the approval of the Engineering Department in relation to stormwater
management issues as well as the incorporation of Mr. Malone's landscape comments into
a revised landscape plan, designed by a landscape architect/engineer and subject to
administrative and Mr. Malone's review which was unanimously approved 7-0.
CMS10-02: Clearwire; 29688 Lorain Road
Representative: John Sindyla
Ms. Wenger said the proposal is collocating antennae on the existing telecommunications tower
at Patton's Towing. The proposed antenna is considered a permitted accessory use in the City's
Zoning Code. The code says the antennae are permitted accessory uses on an existing tower
provided that all equipment for the antenna is housed within the existing equipment shelter. In
this case the expansion will be within the fenced area. Mr. Sindyla said they would like to
collocate on the existing tower and the cabinet will be within the exiting fenced area and no
landscaping changes would be made. Mr. Rerko asked if the coaxial cable would be inside or
outside the monopole and Mr. Sindyla said cables would be inside the monopole. Mr. Malone
asked if existing landscaping was healthy and well maintained and Mr. Sindyla said it was.
Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mrs. Meredith to approve the proposal for CMS10-02:
Clearwire of 29688 Lorain Road consisting of collocating on an existing
telecommunications tower which was unanimously approved 7-0.
CMS10-03: Clearwire; 3000 Clague Road (Clague Park)
Representative: John Sindyla
Ms. Wenger said this antenna collocation proposes to extend the height of the existing tower an
additional 10 feet and noted code allows towers up to 200 feet.
